Vellum Votive Shade

First! a reminder to check out my blog candy here: you have until Friday 12/12 to comment for a chance to win!
What a wonderful New Technique challenge today on Split Coast! We made a vellum wine glass votive shade. You can see the pattern for this here. (it's an adobe file). Most people made winter themed shades but I went with a touch of spring for some reason!?!?!
I used my Martha Stewart flower punch and the leaves from Stampin Up's Bodacious Bouquet to decorate my shade. I added a red dew drop to the center of each flower. I colored the petals with Real Red reinker and my aquapainter and I stamped the leaves with Kiwi Kiss. The vellum is Stampin Up cardstock so it's a little stiffer than regular vellum. I used a flickering battery operated votive that I got at Michaels for inside my glass. You can see the 'flame' peeking out behind the flower! It looks so pretty with the lights out!

This is such a simple technique that really makes a wonderful table or mantel decoration for any holiday - you can see all the other wonderful vellum shades here.

Today we were frigidly cold here in MA - it was 9 degrees when I left for work and didn't get much above 20 all day - and when the wind hit me it went right through my winter coat, gloves and scarf!

Thanks so much for coming by today!

Stamps: Bodacious Bouquet: SU
Paper: vellum card stock: SU
Ink: Real Red, Kiwi Kiss: SU
