August 2026 Card Chain Challenge Reveal

 Today's the day all of the cards exchanged for the August Card Chain Challenge are revealed!  For August, I sent a card to Linda in MN and received a card from Pia in Norway!

26 cards were exchanged in August.

We are always given options for creating our design -  you only need to use one of the options or you can use several of them!   This month - I used the colors (pretty much accept for the pink), the theme of Elephants (could you guess that??!) and friendship.

I die cut a 2nd base shape for the elephant to be the back of the card  - scored it along the top (about a half inch down) and adhered it to the back side of the front piece.

Hubby and I went on a Safari in Kenya in 1998.

I will say elephants were my fav, they were definitely the biggest! 

(but I also loved the giraffes, hippos, monkeys, lions and many beautiful birds!)

I am Guest Designer at Color Hues 7/16/26!

 I was so excited to have my Tulip card chosen as a winner for the Black Yellow challenge back on June 16th and to be asked to be the Guest Designer for today's Color Hues Challenge as well!  

      

Here's the card I made using Black/Red with white, an allowed neutral.

I have had this cute Skate Boarding Terry die from Spellbinders for several months and I was happy to finally get him out to make this card!

Terry is popped up on foam dots as well as the larger cloud (dies from Memory Box).  The sentiment strip was in my Birthday drawer (unknown origin?! I usually mark them?!).  I added white enamel dots from Altenew to the wheels.

I added a Happy Birthday sentiment inside.

Favorite Pet and Why

I love dogs because they give unquestioned love and comfort

I have had 3 dogs ( Cocker spaniel mix, Great Dane - best dog EVER!, and a mix rescue) over the years and my son now has 3 (my granddoggies!)

Inkspirational #298 Mood Board - With Gratitude

 Here's my Design Team card for Inkspirational #298 which is a lovely Mood Board.

I was inspired by the fall foliage photo and made a Thanksgiving card.

I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bigz die Layered Leaf to cut the leaf out of watercolor paper.  I rubbed Dox Rusty Hinge Ink on my craft mat, spritzed with water and pounced the leaf in the ink.  I dried the leaf and then did the same process inking with DOX Crackling Campfire ink, leaving some spots un-inked.

Then I layered the die cut leaf over a piece of patterned paper using foam dots.  The sentiment stamp is from Taylored Expressions cut with Mini Strips die also from Taylored Expressions.  It is up on foam dots as well.

Favorite - Autumn or Winter?

 I love the Autumn with the cooler weather as we leave summer, and the beautiful fall foliage here in New England where I live.
