3 Fish, a Worm and a Butterfly!

I made this card for last Tuesday's Teapot Tuesday challenge at Split Coast -we were to bring along some fish - the more the merrier!!

So I brought three fish with me (aren't these guys hilarious!?) - as well as a very nervous worm on a hook! (well, actually, he is the bait! but don't tell him!)

My stamps are How About Lunch and Luncheon Meat from  Rubbernecker

Stamps: Rubbernecker - How about Lunch #86-18, Luncheon Meat - #86-17
Paper: white, true black - PTI
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Weathered wood
Accessories: Silver Spica Pen, foam tape, blending tool & nonstick craft mat - Ranger, Glossy Accents - Ranger, trio labels - Spellbinders, Copics: Y13, Y17, Bo5, BG13, BG18, BG31, YR07, E33

My 2nd card was made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Split Coast, Rosemary (RosiGrld) was the FS and  I chose to case her Jewel Butterfly card  to case.

I used different stamps and colors and placed my butterfly up higher on my card - inside a Lacey Square Nestability embossed frame still keeping it pretty clean and simple!

These stamps are from the set called Butterflies are Free by  Rubbernecker

I hope you can stop by tomorrow - It's the 1st day of the 4 day Waltzingmouse SoAP (Stamp of Approval Parade)!  Get ready for some inspiring ways to use the WMS May Release stamp sets you purchased!

Sweet Peak -- Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Relax!

Note:  if you are looking for my WMS Saturday Sketch Card - Please scroll down to the next post!  Thanks!

Welcome to my Sneak Peek of a wonderful new beach set by Sweet n' Sassy Stamps called Beauty by the Sea.

First I embossed a square Nestability in the center of my card. (you can see how I do this on my older post here)  Then I cut a piece of this fun patterned paper to fit inside the frame (I'm thinking this is like a little  beach blanket on the sand and the Starfish is laying on it getting a tan ! LOL!!!)

I stamped the starfish on the blue cardstock, cut it out and layered it over the patterned paper with foam tape.  Then I did the same with the sentiment using an oval punch to cut it out.

Finally I added the die cut ocean waves - again with foam tape to give it a little dimension.

You'll find more info and pics of this lovely new set over at the Sweet N Sassy blog, and you'll find links to more DT samples!

It will be available for purchase on June 1 - just in time for those hot summer day cards you're going to be making!

Boy - I'd love to be laying on the beach on this cute blanket catching some rays and watching the waves roll by wouldn't you???!!!

Stamps:  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Beauty by the Sea (available 6/1)
Paper:  White + Hawaiian Shores - PTI, DP Echo Park/For the Record
Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx

Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch - Colorful Birthday Wishes!

Happy Saturday everyone!   WMS has another fun sketch for us this week -  designed by our very own Mischief Maker Edna!

I took a little liberty with the sketch and made my label shape the full width of my card to accomodate my images.   My card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4"

The colors and stamps I chose to use were inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

The pretty birds are from the Celtic Heritage set and the sentiment, circle and leaves are from Teeny Trees.

Now please waltz over to the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch!

Then make your own card using at least one Waltzingmouse stamp and the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 6/2/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !!

Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And every week one lucky entry will win a free WMS stamp set of choice!!

Celebrate with Stars!

Today's Ways to Use it Challenge on Split Coast was to use stars!   So  - I am having a cookout on Memorial Day and wanted to make something to use as a festive decoration on the table.

I also just got this wonderful pinwheel die (you can see the tutorial and order them here)  so I decided today was the day to make some!   So I made a pinwheel on a stick with some stars that I can use to decorate - maybe tape them to bowls or stick them in brownies on a tray......

Notice my star shaped brownie?!?! Cool huh??! I have one of those rubber (silicone) star shaped muffin trays and it's the first time I used that too  - they came out great!
The banner  is from Bitty Banners and the sentiment is from Free Spirit Sentiments - both are from Waltzingmouse.

Happy Memorial Day to all those living in the US - I'm so looking forward to a 3 day weekend! (AND my niece is in the hospital as we speak - having her baby boy! what more could you ask for??!)  I am truly blessed.

Oh - and just a little heads up about what's coming up here on my blog for the next several days-

ON  5/28 and 5/30  I'll be posting some sweet peaks of new Sweet 'N Sassy stamps being released on 6/1

AND - You may recall that Waltzingmouse releases new stamps every other month and on the alternate month the Design Team  reviews the last release with a SOAP - Stamp of Approval Parade
SO on June 1st through June 4th the DT will be highlighting the May release sets as well as spotlighting one of the older sets.

Hope you can drop by!!

Have a Beauty-full Birthday

I was excited to see my good stamping buddy and fellow Paper Doll, Joanne Travis, as Queen for the Day over at Split Coast this week!   I cased her pretty CAS Birthday card

I used different colors and stamps and turned the sketch on it's side. I don't have any frame embossing folders like Joanne used on her card  (gasp!) so I just embossed my whole card - papers and sentiment - with Swiss Dots ( this technique is called embedded embossing) then added my bird cage with foam dimensionals.

I'm also entering this in the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger  - Some Royal Fun.

My stamps are from  a lovely set called Fly Free from The Craft's Meow.  In case you don't know - The Craft's Meow is owned by my good friend Lisa - who was the design team coordinator for Waltzingmouse before she took the plunge to open her own company!   I'd love to have you check out her store!

Stamps: The Craft's Meow - Fly Free

Paper: WHite - PTI, DP Kioshi Paper Pad/Basic Grey, Happy Spots Text Style - PTI

Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - and a 2 Year Birthday Party!

Happy Saturday everyone!   It's time for the Waltzingmouse Sketch but it's also a special day for our Claire and Waltzingmouse Stamps - Waltzingmouse is 2 years old today!!   Whoo hoo -   so not only is there a sketch but the DT and the Mishcief Makers are all making special birthday cards to celebrate the day!

So here's this week's sketch (which Mischief Maker, Edna designed by the way!)

And here is the Birthday card I created

I used stamps from several Waltzingmouse sets for my card.  Bitty Banners, 'Twas the Night before Christmas, Sweet Hearts, Victorian Alphabet and Dainty Doilies large!  I doctored up the sentiment -  I hand wrote the 's  on Guess Who  the 2 and ? are from Victorian Alphabet.  I stamped the images on Claire's celtic squares digital paper.

And in honor of Waltzingmouse's 2nd Birthday -  I made a celebratory cupcake using Claire's new Cuppie Love Template! Just click on the pics to see them larger.

I decorated my cupcake with a pleated ribbon, a banner sentiment tag and I made a metal flower for the top!  I found the tutorial for making these wonderful metal flowers over on Split Coast

Here's a top view of the flower -  I cut it with Tim Holtz Tattered floral die and embossed two of the layers with Sizzix embosing folder - Cracked,  and two of the layers with Provo Craft Swiss Dots embossing folder. The leaves are Sixxix leaf stem.

Now please waltz over to the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch!

Then make your own card using at least one Waltzingmouse stamp and the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 5/26/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !!

Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And every week one lucky entry will win a free WMS stamp set of choice!!

When You're Down And Troubled - and You Need Some Loving Care......

The Way's to Use It challenge over on Split Coast yesterday was to use music in some form on your card. So I started my music theme card with this music sheet patterned paper.

Then when I decided to use this wonderful sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - all I could think of was the Carole King song "You've Got a Friend' from the Tapestry Album - that album hit the charts when I was a freshman in college (yes, I'm THAT old!) and every time I hear any of the songs on it I'm back in my dorm room with Carole King's voice blaring out the windows onto the campus!!  Boy, those were the days!

I also used Wednesday's sketch from SCS - changing it up a bit by replacing the 3rd square with a button. I sponged all the edges with Scattered Straw ink.

Thanks for coming by today - we're heading into the weekend - whoo hoo!!  and here in New England we're hoping for some sun after 2 weeks of rain and drizzle!

Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy - Let Go and Let God
Paper: white, true black - PTI, DP Provocrafts - Heritage Music Score
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress - Scattered straw
Accessories: foam tape, twine & vintage button - PTI, glue dots, ribbon - May Arts

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop - Make it Masculine!

Today I'm participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - the Theme is Masculine.  You have to use TE stamps released prior to March 2011.

 And here's my card

I didn't have any specific masculine stamps to use -  so I used my cuppies to make an Anniversary card for  Kent - our anniversary is coming up in June - so now my card is made! ( you know how we card stampers never seem to have cards for our own family?!?!?)  Inside I stamped 'match made in heaven'!  Which is exactly what we have...!

What makes it masculine??  The colorful but dark colors, the minimal accessories and layers, and the twine!  Do you agree???  My sentiment is from A Year of Sweet Sentiments and my cuppies are from the Downtown Diva set

Here are all the bloggers participating in this fun hop today - let's go check out how to make it masculine - shall we??!

Stamps:  Taylored Expressions - A Year of Sentiments, Downtown Diva
Paper:  White, Enchanted Evening - PTI, DP - Cosmo Cricket 6x6 mini deck Social Club.
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Word Window Punch - SU, Heart Punch - McGill, Twine - PTI, Copics - R05, B37, E31, E35, YG91, YT95

Today I used two new sets -  from the Wild Garden Dandelion set -  my first card uses Dandelion Garden Border #540-02 and a sentiment from an older set Fall Trilogy #480

Instead of inking the stamp - I colored it with water based markers, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it on a panel of watercolor paper.  After it dried - I went over the dandelions with my glue pen and dipped it in Dazzling Diamonds.  I punched the centers and added brads.  I tucked the sentiment in the grass so you'd come upon it rather than have it stand out in this tranquil nature scene!  I distressed and sponged the edges, layered the panel to a green panel and then to the black card base.

I hope you can see the shimmer on the dandelions better on this close up?! Click on any pic to see it larger
And for my last card for this release I used the Dandelion Stem Set #540-01
First I embossed a rectangle Nestability on my card.  I stamped the dandelions on a white panel and sponged the colors using round sponge daubers.  I added yellow Stickles to the centers of the flowers and tied a piece of wrinkled seam tape around the panel.  Then I adhered the panel inside the embossed frame using foam tape.

Here's the list of all the DT blogs participating in the Hop today - be sure to leave a comment at each stop!

Welcome to Rubbernecker Preview Day #2 -  thank you so much for all your lovely comments on yesterday's preview -  didn't you love all of the DT's samples of all the fun stamps being released?!

Today I'm previewing a beautiful silhouette stamp called Wild Garden Corner #559

To make this card - I first stamped the Garden in black ink on a white panel.  I cut a circle out of a piece of Eclipse tape and placed it where I wanted the moon to be.  Then I sponged over the card with Bundled Sage, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmelade and Weathered Wood Ranger Distress Inks.  I removed the round piece of Eclipse tape and sponged over the moon with Antique Linen and a little Weathered Wood.   I layered the panel to a black panel, an orange panel and then to the white card base.

The Crafts Meow Sneak Peak #2 Little Frieda and Lulu - My Girl

Thanks for all your lovely comments on yesterdays post with Little Frieda by the Seashore -

Today the Design Team and the FCM are sneak peeking another little cutie - Little Frieda and Lulu - My Girl.

I made a twisted easel card today to show off this cute little Frieda and her pretty kitty, Lulu (I made Lulu grey because I have two gray cats!)   I learned how to make this style card over on Split Coast at the Try a New Technique challenge last week. Just click on the pic to see it larger.

To make this card - I started with a piece of card stock 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" that I folded in half. Then I folded the front half of the card over - corner to corner to form the triangle. Next I adhered the rectangle to the front of the triangle. The scalloped circle is adhered with foam tape and helps keep the easel up when you want it open.

Here's how it looks folded down - it will go flat and fit in a regular A2 size envelope - It measures 4 1/4" x4 1/4"

Please check over at Lisa's TCM Blog to find all the links of who's participating in the sneak peek today.

Then be sure to leave a comment on all of the blogs. Three comments will be selected randomly from three of the blogs to win this stamp set! You have until tonight at 10:00 pm Pacific to make the rounds. Lisa will announce the winner on her post tomorrow.

Please stop by again tomorrow for the new release The Crafts Meow DT & FCM blog hop!

The Crafts Meow Sneak Peek #1 - Little Frieda at the Seashore!

As a Friend of TCM -  I'm so very excited to be helping Lisa over at The Crafts Meow, preview one of her sweet new Frieda's -  Little Frieda at the Seashore

She is one of  two new Little Frieda stamp sets that will be released on Sunday May 15th!  (you just may see the 2nd one here tomorrow - 'wink- wink')

I painted this little unfinished frame with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint (it looks like the sandy beach doesn't it!?!) -  then I inserted a clip art picture of the seashore that I found on Microsoft Word.  I colored little Frieda and the birds with Copics, cut them out and adhered them to the frame with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiments and cut them with a Grommet Tag from Spellbinders.  I sponged around the edges before taking it out of the die.  I wove wrinkled seam tape through the holes and left them loose and blowing in the seabreeze  like the pretty ribbon on little Frieda's hat!  Finally I added a little bling to the sentiment!  Click on the pic to see it larger.

And now for the fun!   You can win this cute little set!  Please check out The Craft's Meow Blog to find the links to all the design team (and Friends of TCM) who created projects with Little Frieda at the Seashore!

Make a Wish!

Happy Tuesday dear stamping friends!
I made this card for the color challenge over on Split Coast today - Joanne gave us Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Blushing Bride to work with this week. A lovely combination!

My stamps are from the May release called Butterfly Kisses over at The Crafts Meow. Isn't this the sweetest little butterfly fairy?!!  I sponged over her wings and around the edges with pink ink to give the black silhouette stamping a little color.  I love the texture of the asparagus Coredinations paper too!

I even got the dessert option of flowers in - she's blowing on a dandelion and making a wish!

I loosely used the Clean and Simple #139 sketch for my card design today.

Thanks so much for coming by!

Thank's for All You Do Mum!

A Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there today!  My son Josh and his girlfriend April  are taking me and Kent out to dinner this afternoon.  I don't see them often so I'm looking forward to a lovely visit with them!

I made this card for Today's Featured Stamper Challenge over at Split Coast.  - I chose Jo's Bundle of Love card to CASE today.

I used different stamps and added a butterfly but kept the basic design. I made mine a thank you/Mother's Day card instead of a baby card.

My cute little girl is called Ava's Gift  and is a digi image from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Shining Light.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - Happy Birthday Doilies!

It's Saturday which means it's time to check out this weeks' Waltzingmouse Sketch for inspiration!

And here it is!
and here's my card.

I used two of the May Release Waltzingmouse stamps sets on my card today -  Dainty Doilies Large and Say it Loud.  I just love all the sentiments you can create with the Say it Loud set!  Have you checked it out yet??  As you can see - this is a really CAS (clean and simple) card -  I just stamped the doilies and sentiment on a white panel - added one rhinestone and popped it up on a Hibiscus card with foam tape!  Can't get much quicker or easier than this!

Now please hop on over to the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch!

Then make your own card using at least one Waltzingmouse stamp and the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 5/12/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !!

Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And every week one lucky entry will win a free WMS stamp set of choice!!

We Must be Willing to Let Go

This is the first card I'm posting over at the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog today as part of my Design Team Assignments!    I'd love for you to hop over there and leave a comment on my posting!
I used the twisted easel style for my card today - isn't this cool??!!  It was the Try a New Technique challenge over at Split Coast this week.   Here's the link to the instructions from Laura's Blog:

You start with a piece of card stock 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" that you fold in half.  Then you fold the front of the card over - corner to corner to form the triangle.  Then adhere the rectangle to the front. The scalloped circle is adhered with foam tape and helps keep the easel up.

Here's how it looks folded down - it will go flat and fit in a regular A2 size envelope -  (it just wouldn't stay completely flat without me holding it down!)   It measures 4 1/4" x4 1/4"

I was so pleased with how this came out - I'll definately be making more cards using this fun style!
I used the Split Coast CAS challenge colors - chocolate, sand, baby blue and white.

My stamps are a wonderful new Faith set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Let Go and Let God.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Watches and a Tenor Saxaphone!

Today I have two more cards to share with you using newly released  Rubbernecker Stamps.

I made this first card for the Free 4 All challenge over on Split Coast last week - to use lots of layers!  I've got 4 layers of card stock - a layer of patterned paper, a layer of 3 watches and my sentiment! All tied up with twine!

My stamps are from Rubbernecker and my sketch is the Clean +  Simple Sketch #138  Click on any pic to see it larger.

I created my second card for my dear friend Anne who was chosen the Queen for the Day over on Split Coast last week so I couldn't let the day go by without honoring her by casing one of her lovely cards!  and, of course, I just HAD to pick a red one (Anne's favorite color)! Here's the card I chose to CASE (copy and share).

I used a saxaphone on my card instead of a guitar and red designer paper instead of cardstock. Again - these stamps are from Rubbernecker.  My card is 5 1/2" x 3" so it still fits in a regular A2 envelope.

I have also been wanting to try Joan's technique challenge from a few weeks ago - follow the edge where you cut around the edge of your image on the front of your card revealing the inside of the card behind it.

Dave over at Rubbernecker stamps has been releasing new stamps for the past two months - so be sure to check them out too see what's new!

Today I'm highlighting one of the new floral roses stamps -  a single stem rose #531-10 isn't it a beauty?!

First I stamped the rose on a white panel, then I cut it with a petite oval Nestability.  I sponged around the edges before taking it out of the die and then colored the rose with Copics.  I added a little bit of yellow Stickles to the center and a little bling along the bottom.  Click on the pic to see it larger.

I used the Last but Not Least Sketch for my card which was designed this month by my fellow Paper Doll stamping buddy, Wanda Cullen.
