A Courtly Check Christmas

Here are three fun Christmas designs I made from an Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  The inspiration was the  MacKenzie - Childs web site and I was inspired by three items in the Courtly Check section of the store.  I loved the black and white check so much I had to force myself to stop going back for more inspiration!

My first card was inspired by this Courtly Check Table Top Penguin.
The penguin dies are a no name brand, the frames are Nordic Frames by The Greetery.   The peace die is from PTI.  The little bow tie is from the Tiny Gift Box Deer Add On die set from Lawn Fawn.

On all the cards, I made the black and white check with the Check Mate Stencil from Wendy Vecchi/Stampers Anonymous using black ink on white card stock.
My second card was inspired by the Courtly Check Large Deer.
My deer is the Dashing Deer die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.  The sentiment is the bottom of a Christmas Tag from Impression Obsession and the little holly is from Tiny Gift Box Deer Add On dies by Lawn Fawn.  The Nordic Frame die is from The Greetery.

My third card was inspired by the Courtly Check White Magnolia.
The flower and leaves are Floral Fantasy 3D die set from Altenew.  The sentiment is Penned Elegance dies and stamps from PTI and the frames are Nordic Frame Dies from The Greetery.

I have a few more Christmas card designs to share and will post them this weekend!

Sharing some Christmas!

Today I'm sharing some Christmas cards that I made this year for various challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.  Supplies are listed beneath each card.

I used an older Nestability Layered poinsettia die for this first card.  I colored the pieces by smooshing them onto my craft mat where I had rubbed Salty Ocean Distress Ink spritzed with water. I layered the pieces with a single foam dot in the center of each layer.  The lovely circle die is from Penny Black.
Paper: white - PTI, watercolor paper - Canson, DP North Wind - Craft and You
Ink: Ranger Distress Salty Ocean
Accessories:   craft mat, water mister, Layered Poinsettia Nestabilities, Circle Nestability, Stitched Square and Circle dies - Penny Black, foam dots, enamel dot - Altenew, Metallic Stickers/Holiday Talk - Tim Holtz/Idea-ology

This fun T-Rex die is from  Cheery Lynne Designs and the beautiful  tree stamps are from Rubbernecker.  I colored them with Distress Markers, spritzed with water and stamped onto watercolor paper.

The framing on this card is made by using two different dies from The Greetery -  Halfsies Diamond and Halfsies Oval.  The pretty little wren is also from The Greetery.  The wreath is PTI

Tag #12 - Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

My 12th and final tag for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas - what a fun 12 days this has been creating tags for different Christmas Carols! Today's carol inspiration is Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Here is my tag:
How could I not use this Santa's Coming to Town stamp set for today's tag?!!  Unfortunately, it is from Waltzingmouse which went out of business several years ago.  I was on Claire's design team and have ALL of her stamps and I continue to use them often!  She designed this set to work with Heirloom Ornament Nestability Dies.  The smaller tag was cut using Tremendous Tags from PTI.

I'm kind of sad that there are no more tags to make for the challenge!   It's so much easier to think of a design when you have been given a theme don't you think?  Anyway, my packages will look pretty special this year with all these wonderful tags on them!

If you missed any of my tags and you'd like to see them - you can just scroll down my blog posts or click on each one below to take you directly there!

Tag #11 - Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas - White Christmas

Today I'm posting Tag #11 for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas.  The inspiration carol for this tag is White Christmas.
Here is my tag:
I used the In the Meadow die set and Tag Sale Quilted Die from PTI for my tag today.  I layered the die cut tree, 2 birds, 2 deer and a bunny onto the white tag.  The sentiment is a Metallic Sticker/Holiday Talk.

Just one more tag I'll be posting tomorrow to complete all 12 of Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of  Christmas - I have had a lot of fun creating to the carol theme for each tag!

I'm also linking my tag to:

I also wanted to share a photo I took the day after a soft snowfall we had last Wednesday.  I had parked behind a building that looks out on this small lake in Melrose, MA and when I came back out I looked up to see this gorgeous view of the trees with the snow, the lake half frozen and the patch of blue sky reflecting on the unfrozen section of the water.

It looks like a black and white photo retouched with blue on the sky and lake doesn't it?!!   I'm going to print it out and make some greeting cards out of it!

We need to remember to just 'look up' during our busy days and appreciate what is around us!

Paper:  White - PTI
Accessories:  Tag Sale Quilted Die, In The Meadow Dies - PTI, form dots, Metallic Stickers Holiday Talk - Tim Holtz/Idea-ology, ribbon from stash
