The Comfort of a Mountain View

I recently purchased this interesting Abstract Mountain Die from Ellen Hutson. These are the first cards I've made with it.

For my first try, I used just 3 colors, and splattered it with a white POSCA Pen for a snow effect.

For the second card,  I tried 6 different colors and added an inked circle sun .  This one I splattered with a gold paint pen and also added gold dots to the black piece of landscape.

Easter Egg Blessings

I'm in full Easter card mode now that it's April.    I made a card similar to this a month or so ago, but used darker colors and no framing and this time I layered the stems over an egg!

I die cut a panel of watercolor paper with the beautiful Quilted Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn and then cut it with the largest Nestability egg.  I die cut the stems out of Pale Rose and Soft Stone card stock using Alexandra Renke's Magnolium die.
The looped bow is Fit to be Tied from The Greetery.
I glued the stem pieces together and layered them over the egg with foam dots.  I die cut the scalloped frame using Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames from MFT and adhered the frame and the egg to the white card base.
The stamped sentiment is from Mini Strips: Easter  stamped on a sentiment strip die - both from Taylored Expressions.

I really love this Pale Rose color with the Soft Stone!

March Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Today they are revealing all the cards sent and received over at the March Card Chain Challenge.  This month I sent my card to Joanne in CT and received a beautiful card from Lia in the Netherlands!

I used the March Sketch option and two of the theme options: Forest and Friendship.

First, I masked off the edges of my card panel.and sponged the inside area lightly with Tea Dye Distress Ink using a blender brush.  Then I sponged over the panel with White Orbs Stencil and Tea Dye Distress Ink which added the darker small circles.  I removed the masking tape from the edges and stamped the Keeping Faith Sentiment in black ink using my Misti.  I stamped the Fairy Fir Tree 2 stamp in black ink in the bottom right corner slightly off the edges of the panel, again using my Misti.  I used an acrylic circle mask to sponge the large circles as per the sketch.

Check out this fun monthly challenge where cards are exchanged internationally!

You'll find The Card Chain Challenge here.

Stamps: Keeping Faith, Fairy Fir Tree 2 - Lavinia Stamps
Paper: white - Papertrey Ink
Ink: Obsidian - Altenew, Ranger Distress Tea Dye.
Accessories: White Orbs Stencil, Acetate Circle Masks - Lavinia Stamps, blending brush.

Mad for Plaid

Joining in on the latest Jingle Belles Christmas Card Challenge - We Wish You a Plaid Christmas.

I used both plaid and striped DP  behind my little candy cane balancing elf I made using Santa's Helper die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix.   The sentiment is a Label Sticker.  I made the feather in his cap by clipping of a little wing off of a punched bird.  I used White Glossy Nuvo Drops for his fur collar and cuffs.  I added gold dots to his jacket and used a green pencil for the line between his arms and defining the edge between his cap and face.  The buckle is die cut out of gold metallic paper.

This card also works for the Split Coast Stampers Fan Club April Christmas card challenge which is based on a Christmas Movie - can you guess which one??!

Paper:  True Black, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, White, Pure Poppy, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack - PTI, Metallic Gold - Park Lane/JoAnn, DP Mini Stash Christmas - Tim Holtz/Idea-ology
