Love from Us and the Dogs

I made this duo doggy card for my friend (who owns two dogs) to send to her grown son Andy for his birthday.

I stamped, colored and die cut the pups and placed them inside a Polaroid frame up on foam dots.  The blue DP actually has paw prints on it if you look closely!  I added the ball as if it had just dropped out of the pups mouth - he's ready to play!  The sentiment from Simple Strips - Woof, from Taylored Expression, worked perfectly for this card

Love from Us and the Dogs

I made this card for a friend to send her son, Andy, for his birthday -  my friend has 2 dogs and this sentiment from Woof by Taylored Expressions was perfect!

The dogs are an older Tim Holtz stamp and die set called Dog Talk.  I colored the dogs with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the eyes.  The dogs are popped up on foam dots inside the Polaroid die cut from Whimsy Stamps.  The background paper is paw prints - not sure you can see that as it's rather dark?!

Inkspirational Challenge #299 - CAS Loss of Pet Sympathy

Inkspirational Challenge #299 has just been posted - and it is Clean and Simple with the optional twist - Inspired by a Movie.
As I was just getting ready to make my Design Team card for this challenge, a friend asked if I could create a card for her friend who just lost her sweet little dog, Tessa,  to cancer.  So I went with Clean and Simple on my card and did not do the optional twist of being inspired by a movie.
My friend said she didn't know what kind of dog Tessa was but she was a little white 'fluff ball' with black eyes.  So this little pup on my card was the closest dog image I had to fit that description!
The pup is from Dog Kisses by Stampendous.  The sentiment is from Rainbow Bridge by Honey Bee.

If I was going to be inspired by a movie - it could have been Hotel for Dogs:  the film tells the story of two orphaned siblings (living in foster care), who secretly take in stray dogs along with their family dog at a vacant hotel.

I didn't see the movie - but they have some white 'fluff ball' dogs on their poster!

So, please join us and link up your Clean and Simple Card (maybe inspired by a movie?) over at Inkspirational!

You have until Oct 6th to link up!

Home is Where.....

I have a lot of friends with dogs (and cats) and so I like to have pet cards on hand.  This card was so easy to put together - I just used papers from My Dog paper pad from Echo Park.  It has lots of  different dog images pages, and coordinating plaids, dots and solid color pages.  There are also pages of coordinating image/sentiments like the one I used on my card today.

I used two different papers from the paper pad as well as the sentiment piece which is framed in brown card and popped up on foam dots.

I'm linking my card to:
I was inspired by all the dogs on the top piece of the bag in the photo.

The winner of this challenge will receive the lovely bag shown as the photo Inspiration - made by DT member Kim!

A Little Critter - Corgi

I made this card in honor of HM Queen Elizabeth's passing.  I live in the US but I am of British heritage and always feel a connection to the going's on in Great Britain.

I had purchased the Lil Critters Corgi die from Simon Says Stamp, last year to make a birthday card for my grandniece because Corgi's were the favorite thing of the day for her!

I sprayed Distress Stains over the stencil (Spatter Heart from A Colorful Life), using Fired Brick, Carved Pumpkin and Fossilized Amber.

I ran my Versamark ink along the edge of the panel and gold embossed it. The Corgi is up on foam dots. I just happened to have a crown in my box of charms so I put that on the Corgi's head!

I stamped the sentiment from Rainbow Bridge from Honey Bee Stamps and added a gem heart.  This card is 5" square.

My deepest condolences to Great Britain in the loss of their beloved Queen.

Choriza's First Christmas

My son recently adopted a  dog  from the MSPCA  (Mass Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)  - she's a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull terrier.  Her name is Choriza.  I don't have any photos of her yet  -  but she looks pretty much like this photo I found on line.  She stands just about a foot off the ground - and she is one sturdy little piece of muscle - very sweet and well behaved!
So, being a crafter,  I made simple personalized ornament for my new granddog - since this is her first Christmas with my son and we wanted to make her feel welcome!
I found this unfinished wooden dog bone at Joanns - it's about 4" x 2".  I painted it with Bronze Art Anthology Metal Effects Dimensional Paint - leaving the streaks in it to look more like a dog cookie.  I added her name and the year with Idea-ology Label Letters and the snowflake and Christmas are Remnant Rubs Christmas Time.  I brushed over everything with Multi Medium Matte to seal it.   I added a piece of tan felt to the back and looped a piece of twine through the hole so he can hang it up.

Dot the Dog

I've got a quick CAS card to share today -  I whipped it up after seeing this fortnights Addicted to CAS Code word: Dots challenge.

Trying to think of what stamps I might have with dots on them -  I came across a NBUS set of dog stamps from Inkadinkado, two of the pups had spots on them!
Here's a close up of the spotted pooch -  in a pinch - you might be able to use him as a cat (?!) being on the slightly scrawny side -  but don't tell the dog that!!!
I embossed the background panel with a Polka Dot Embossing Folder from Life Style Crafts and die cut the image with a Stitched Mat Square die from Lil' Inker Designs.

So there you go -  a quick post for a quick Addicted to CAS card!

Stamps:  Hi stamp - Inky Antics, dog stamp - Inkadinkado/Dogs
Paper:  White - PTI
Ink:  Archival Tree Branch
Accessories:  Stitched Mat Square die - Lil' Inker Designs, Polka Dots embossing folder - Life Style Crafts, foam dots.

Creative Packaging for Valentine Treats! (and some cards)

I just love Valentine's Day - not because of anything I might receive - I just love all the hearts, the red and white colors, all the lovely boxes of chocolates, jelly hearts, and of course - all the cute little cards - like the kind we used to give each other as kids in school!

Every year, two stamping friends and I have a sale at our church of Valentine goodies to make money for the church.  Here are some of the things I made this year.

First up are some sweet little corked bottles that I found in Michaels in the Wedding aisle.  I filled them with M&M's, added a 'be my valentine' sentiment at the base, and tied a glittery punched heart around the neck using some white wrinkled seam tape.

Next I stamped an arrowed heart and sentiment on these cute little drawstring muslin bags - I found them at a garden shop - you could either buy them separately (which I did) or fill them with potpouri they were also selling.  I filled these with cherry jelly hearts.
And here are some cards I made for the sale -  we made the first two in a card stamping workshop last week at my church - another thing my friends and I do to make money for the church (and to have some fun!)

First are these cute little Sizzix Die pups -  see how different they look with different papers - and check out their eyes -  the first two are looking to the pup on the right - and that one is looking straight at us!  All a matter of where you put the pupils!   Inside I stamped You're doggone great!  Happy Valentine's Day.
And then we have these cute snowman Valentine's - cut from a Tim Holtz die, the front and back are attached from the neck up with ScorTape.  I punched the hearts, stamped them with Be Mine,  and tied wrinkled seam tape around their necks - and added a 'coal' rhinestone eye!  I love how the wrinkled seam tape seems to be blowing in the wind that is making the snowman hold his hat on.   I cut a little off the base of Frosty so that he would stand up!
And finally a cute little squirrel Valentine.  I die cut a circle out of the center of the card front then die cut circle frames out of black and brushed gold.  The little squirrel and sentiment are stamped on a Vintage Cream circle that is adhered to the inside of the card so you see it through the circle cut out.
I layered a little red heart to the hand of the squirrel with foam tape and added the Valentine sentiment to the bottom corner so you don't see it until you open the card.
I was inspired to make this card by these earrings from Villa Sorgenfrei Etsy shop - for the Inspiration Challenge over on Splitcoast this past Saturday.

For the Dogs - WMS DT Blog Waltz - Creating with Pouch Mart Bags

I am excited to be participating in a special blog waltz today.  Several of the WMS Design team members are using Waltzingmouse stamps to embellish bags from Pouch Mart - a web store that sells all shapes, colors and sizes of bags.  The folks over at Pouch Mart generously sent us some bags to work with and they are also offering a $25 Pouch Mart gift certificate for one lucky commenter.    See all the prize details at the bottom of my post.
I've chosen to work with these fun 4"x6" paw print bags today -  I make a lot of crafts to sell at my Church Fair in October - and one very popular item has been dog treats in fun packaging!   I make my own dog biscuits using a recipe from Bullwrinkle.com (Scroll to the bottom and click on the Recipes box - I used the Milk Bone Dog Biscuits one)
The" home made for you" label is from the Candy Jar Christmas set and the Best Friend is from the Compact Family set.  I attached the best friend label to the circle with a little flower brad, punched a hole in the circle label and looped a key chain through that and the drawstring tie on the bag.  I put the dog cookies inside a clear bag, stapled the top to keep them fresh and placed the bag inside the paw print bag -  and ready to go!

I'm always looking for cute cookie cutter shapes and this past winter I found these wonderful dog and mouse ones in a shop in Vermont when we were visiting my DH's brother and his wife.
I just had to get the mouse - right?  (although it doesn't look like she's waltzing!?!)

Be sure to leave a comment at each blog -   one lucky commenter will win a $25.00 gift certificate to Pouch Mart - and another lucky commenter will win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set!  You have until Sunday July 29th 11:59 pm EST to leave your comments!

Winners will be announced here on my blog Monday July 30th.

Here are the links!  Let's go see what bags each of these designers used for their projects today!

Paws-itively Doggone Great Day!

I'm playing along again with the Dynamic Duo challenge -  this week we are using Bashful Blue and Marina Mist -

well -  I'm actually using Bashful Blue and a Bazzill Blue (don't know which blue it is!) as I didn't have Marina Mist.

I embossed a square Nestability on the card, stamped and cut out the dog house, dog and sentiment and layered them with foam tape. The little CELEBRATE over the door is from the Box Word Set.   My stamps are all from Rubbernecker.

This card was also for the Featured Stamper over on Split Coast today - Susan Bridgman (Susanbri). I chose to CASE her Spaniel with Sleigh bells card.  I changed the stamps and made mine a b'day or special day card - but kept the dog theme and blue color.

I hope everyone (in the US) is having a fun safe Memorial Day Weekend -  and I'd like to take this chance to thank all the women and men serving (or who have served in the past) in the military.   You help keep us ALL safe and it is greatly appreciated.

This is a picture of my son Josh (on the right) when he was stationed in South Korea in 1997.  He joined the Army right out of High School.  His first assignment was 12 months in South Korea.

Stampin' Sisterhood Father's Day Blog Hop

Hi stampers!   Welcome to the Rubbernecker Design Team's Stampin' Sisterhood Father's Day Blog Hop!  We're here to give you lots of ideas for cards for those men in your life!
Be sure to read all the deets below to see how you can win some Rubbernecker rubber!!

I made my Father's Day card for my son - who is father to two basset hounds - Daisy and Roscoe.  Yes -  my grandchildren are dogs (!) and they are very loving and cute!

The doggie stamp is not a basset hound - his ears are too short -  but close enough I say!  I attempted to color them with the appropriate areas of white, black and brown.  I'm sure Josh will say I woefully failed in that attempt!  but at least I tried!

Here are the real doggies -  Roscoe is on the left and Daisy is on the right.
Something caught their interest in the neighbor's yard
Roscoe still sits pretty and Daisy loses interest in looking at Grandma's camera!

I used the April SFYTT sketch for my card - using a wonky rectangle instead of a circle.  I thought it made the card a little more jumpy - just like the dogs!

So here you go with all the details!
