my winner is Ginny -  comment #39  chosen by Random.org:

Cute card set. Your organizers are so pretty.
July 26, 2012 1:36 PM

Ginny -  please  email Adela at creationsbyar@sbcglobal.net with your choice of template - the organizer or the scalloped cards bag.

And now - onto the card that I made for today's Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch which is based on a card that DT member Belinda made.

And here's my card.
I'm flying right past summer into Halloween with my sketch card today!   I created the birch tree background by sponging over a stencil called Aspen Trees.  The scallop tags are Spellbinders and the stars and boo stamp are from Midnight Feast.  I used Ranger Distress Iced Spruce Ink - I love how it looks - spooky dark but not too dark!  I tied wrinkled seam tape and Glitter Eyelash Yarn through the top of the tags.
If you'd like to play along with this cool WMS sketch this week - you'll find all the details and the place to link up your card here.  You could win a Waltzingmouse stamp set!

And don't forget to check out my post below -  you can leave a comment there for more chances to win until Sun 7/29 11:59 pm EST !

I'm also entering this card in the Twisted Tuesday Challenge -  this week it's to have a tree on your card and the twist is to have a knotted ribbon. - I knotted my ribbons through the hole in the tag!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Midnight Feast
Paper:  White, Smokey Shadow - PTI
Ink:  Ranger Distress Iced Spruce
Accessories:  foam tape, cropadile, Aspen Trees Stencil - The Crafters Workshop, scalloped tags - Spellbinders, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, Glitter Eyelash yarn - Martha Stewart (Michaels)

For the Dogs - WMS DT Blog Waltz - Creating with Pouch Mart Bags

I am excited to be participating in a special blog waltz today.  Several of the WMS Design team members are using Waltzingmouse stamps to embellish bags from Pouch Mart - a web store that sells all shapes, colors and sizes of bags.  The folks over at Pouch Mart generously sent us some bags to work with and they are also offering a $25 Pouch Mart gift certificate for one lucky commenter.    See all the prize details at the bottom of my post.
I've chosen to work with these fun 4"x6" paw print bags today -  I make a lot of crafts to sell at my Church Fair in October - and one very popular item has been dog treats in fun packaging!   I make my own dog biscuits using a recipe from Bullwrinkle.com (Scroll to the bottom and click on the Recipes box - I used the Milk Bone Dog Biscuits one)
The" home made for you" label is from the Candy Jar Christmas set and the Best Friend is from the Compact Family set.  I attached the best friend label to the circle with a little flower brad, punched a hole in the circle label and looped a key chain through that and the drawstring tie on the bag.  I put the dog cookies inside a clear bag, stapled the top to keep them fresh and placed the bag inside the paw print bag -  and ready to go!

I'm always looking for cute cookie cutter shapes and this past winter I found these wonderful dog and mouse ones in a shop in Vermont when we were visiting my DH's brother and his wife.
I just had to get the mouse - right?  (although it doesn't look like she's waltzing!?!)

Be sure to leave a comment at each blog -   one lucky commenter will win a $25.00 gift certificate to Pouch Mart - and another lucky commenter will win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set!  You have until Sunday July 29th 11:59 pm EST to leave your comments!

Winners will be announced here on my blog Monday July 30th.

Here are the links!  Let's go see what bags each of these designers used for their projects today!

Some Happy News - DT Blog Hop - Creations by AR Templates

I am SO excited to let you all know that I have been invited to be on the Creations by AR Design Team -  if you are not familiar with Creations by AR -  it is a web store that sells wonderfully designed and fun Templates!  For those of you who know me -  this is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY - as I LOVE making crafty little containers, buildings, vehicles, etc, etc, etc,  and decorating them with stampings!

So today the design team is creating with two brandy new templates designed by owner Adela Rossol.  All templates include PDF, SVG and DXF files.

The first project I have to show you is using  the Scalloped Card Bag template.   It includes templates for a cute little bag and 4 cards with envelopes!  I decorated the cards and bag with some digital patterned paper from Jessica Sprague.  I made the envelopes out of a lighter weight 12 x 12 sheet of card stock  The bag measures 3 3/4" x 4"

Here's a close up of the cards - I made two of each color and pattern. The Thinking of You was stamped and punched with a Keytag punch.   The Just a Note stamp was punched with a small oval.  These little notes are 3" x 3".
Since the cards were made from darker card stock -  I added squares of white to the inside so a written note could be seen.  I used a remoistenable envelope glue on the flap of the envelope so they can be sealed!
I even put a little Hello on the back of the bag so it wouldn't look all naked back there!
And here's the front - with all 4 cards and envelopes safely tucked inside!  I tied a piece of wrinkled seam tape in 3 bows through the top handles and added some rhinestones to the sentiment for some shimmer!  A sweet little gift for a friend or neighbor don't you think?
The second template being released today is called Folder Organizer.  Adella made hers to store embossing folders in -  but I decided to make mine to hold my stash of most needed cards -  Birthday, Get Well and Thank You - so I know I have some handy and just where they are!    Here are all the pieces put together.

The template includes the base,
and the folders to put inside the base.  It includes patterns for the DP around the base of the box and the front and sides of the folders.
I cut out additional pieces to put on the inside and outside of the back of the box (as seen above and below).  I used digital Patterned Paper from Jessica Sprague. I also added a thin strip of DP on the side of the folder - easy peasy to measure and cut out - just a rectangle slightly smaller than the area covered.   I added some bling for color on the sides and on the front.

Here's the view from the back -  colorful from any angle isn't it!
and here is my Folder Organizer at work - holding some of my cards.  My cards are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" so they are shorter than my A2 envelopes -  at least 4 cards and envelopes will fit in each folder.   I used my P-Touch Label Maker for the words and a fringe die from Memory Box to make the felt flower.
Here are the links to the Design Team participating today -  remember to leave a comment at each one - there will be one winner chosen from EACH of our blogs!  You could win your choice of one of the new templates!

I will post my winner right back here on Saturday!

Joyeux Noel

I made this card for last week's Split Coast color challenge - to use Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.  I didn't have the SU colors so I substituted New Leaf, Fired Brick and Vintage Cream.

I finally got to use my Layered Poinsettia dies from Spellbinders that I bought at the end of last season after seeing so many beautiful creations made with them on many blogs and galleries!  First I die cut a circle out of the front of my card
Then I traced the circle opening on the inside to show me where to stamp the doily and layer the poinsettia.  I put foam dots between the bottom two layers of the flower so it was popped up a bit.  I used my glue pen on the tips of the flower and leaves and dipped them in Dazzling Diamonds.
I die cut a larger Eyelet circle, cut out the center and adhered it over the opening on the front of my card.  I stamped the sentiment on a die cut banner and layered it over the base of the opening with thick foam dots so when the card is closed the banner is still higher than the flower.

I hope you'll stop by on Friday -  I'm going to be participating in a Blog Waltz with some of my fellow Waltzingmouse Design Team members - we'll all be using WMS stamps on Pouch Mart bags!  There's sure to be lots of inspiring projects!

and on Thursday I have an exciting announcement to share along with another blog hop! (you might see a little clue on my side bar!?!)  Lots of fun things happening this week!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Dainty Doilies Large, Sentiment from Very Vintage Christmas

Wild Thing

Last week's Tea Party over on Split Coast was all about giraffes - the more the merrier - (it also involves cheerleaders, cookies,......) it's always hard to explain our tea parties - check it all out here  Most weeks we have a place to send our Tea party cards and this week they are going to Alex - a lovely young lady who should just be thinking about being a senior in high school - but is facing a lot of health issues as well.  Alex loves giraffes.

So -  I've made a little parade of giraffes on my card - I used purple like Alex's 'so cool' shoes that she wore to the prom (a picture Mothermark shared on the challenge post)  My wrinkled seam tape is a really deep dark purple - (it may look black in the pic).

I used these cute little giraffe stamps and die from Papertrey Ink  for my card.

On the inside of my card I stamped this sentiment from River City Rubberworks:

"Once or twice in our lives, we are given the chance to find out just how much inner strength we possess. Usually we find we have far more than we ever imagined."

Alex has had to learn about her inner strength at a very young age.....

Stamps: It's a Jungle Out There - PTI, inside sentiment by River City Rubberworks
Paper: white - PTI
Ink: Memento Sweet Plum and Grape Jelly
Accessories: foam tape, Gems - Adornit, giraffe Die - PTI, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop

Chillax

What a great word huh?  the combination of chill and relax - it really gives you the feeling of summer and taking it easy!  I made this card combining 3 challenges over on Split Coast  - Thursday's Way to Use it - a beach theme, Friday's Free for All -  a weather theme  and the Queen for the Day - who was Ina (yellowrose46)

I cased Ina's beautiful Sailing into the Sunset card.  I used different stamps and colors but kept the ocean/summer theme with a bright sun rise over the water on a hot summer day!

These wonderful stamps are from a new set called My Island by Waltzingmouse.

I embossed a rectangle on the card base, stamped the images on white with blue, yellow and orange inks and adhered the panel inside the frame with foam tape. Then I stamped the 'chillax' sentiment on the bottom of the card.  A CAS summer beach card!

Yippee!  the weekend is here!  Maybe we'll go to the beach!  Let's all just chillax!

And in case you're looking for a fun challenge -  check out the Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch.

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - My Island
Paper: white, Hawaiian Shores - PTI
Ink: Hawaiian Shores - PTI, Memento Tangelo, Cantaloupe, Tuxedo Black

WMS July 17th Blog Party - Celebrate the Outdoors!

Today I'm participating in the July WMS Blog Party - we have a blog party the 17th of each month - and the topic is announced on the Waltzingmouse Blog on the 1st of every month so we have plenty of time to create!  This month the theme is Outdoors (think picnics, the beach or lake, summer foods etc!)

I chose to highlight summer foods -  in particular -  fresh strawberries and home made jam!
I made this sweet little basket with three strawberries inside it from Claire's Strawberry Suite Template (available at the WMS shop later this month) .  I stamped the sides of the basket and the strawberries with a background stamp from Pin Nic Patterns (I white embossed the stamping on the strawberries).  The little basket is about 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".  The pattern includes a handle but I didn't use it on mine today.
My first card uses stamps from the set Big Berries - Strawberries - you can pre-order this set now! - it will be available mid-July.  After stamping all the images on the white panel,  I dry embossed it with my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The cards are both 4 1/4" x 4 1/4"
My 2nd card uses stamps from Jar Fillers - Jam Packed  and Candy Jar two more sets that will be available NOW! in mid-July. (if you have the Candy Jar Christmas set - you already have this jar!)  I stamped the jar outline and cover with London Fog ink, then I stamped the contents in red.  I stamped the label, cut it out and layered it over the jar with foam tape.  Then I just added a piece of tied twine adhering it with a glue dot.
I cut up a paper doily and adhered the edges just inside the edges of the little box and folded them over the top.  I ran the twine through the holes in the panels of the strawberry to close them up and pulled the twine up through the leaf on top - then tied it in a bow.
I placed my little box on top of another doily -  Isn't this just the cutest thing??!
Now I hope you will check out all the people coming to the Blog Party today -  we are all linking our cards/projects up over at the WMS blog!  I'm off to check them out -  are you coming with me??  You can also join in the fun!  You have 24 hours to post and link your card -  all the details are here.

A Happy Woody Birthday

I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge over on Split Coast yesterday. Cynthia (StampinAK) was the FS and I chose to case the most recent card in her gallery - a masculine Happy Birthday

It's always good to have guy cards on hand. I used a different vehicle image, used a square instead of circle for my image and used different papers. I added a ribbon and a button with bling for good measure!!  Cynthia didn't color her image so I left mine uncolored as well.  I was tempted to color it in - but decided to leave it Clean and Simple!

My vintage woody and Happy Birthday are from Rubbernecker Stamps.  The wood grain paper is from the Country Boutique 6x6 paperpad by Fancy Pants - a recent purchase!  I thought it was the perfect background for my 'Woody' wagon!

I'm back to work after my time off last week -  but am actually happy to be in air-conditioning - this whole week is supposed to be HOT AND HUMID!!

I'll be back tomorrow to participate in the July Waltzingmouse Blog Party -  will you join in as well?!  You can find all the details here.

Stamps: Rubbernecker - Happy Birthday #2 #40-17, Woody #567-01
Paper: Vintage Cream, Smokey Shadow - PTI, DP Country Boutique 6x6 paperpad - Fancy Pants

Baby Cowboy & a Butterfly

Happy Saturday everyone! Here's my card for the inspiration challenge over on Splitcoast today.
The inspiration web site was the Sugar Chic Baby Etsy Shop - I was inspired by this cowboy bib.
I recently purchased this fun little bib stamp by Toomuchfun Rubberstamps at a scrapping/stamping show and this was the perfect opportunity to use it!

The stampings on the bib and background are from Back in the Saddle and Way Out West by Waltzingmouse.

Before I go -  I just wanted to share a picture I took in my garden today -  this wonderful monarch butterfly was fluttering around my butterfly bush (planted specifically to attract these beauties!) -  she wouldn't open her wings for me so you can just catch a glimpse of the lovely orange.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A 2 Year Old and a Fisherman!

Loll Thompson was the Featured Stamper over on Split Coast last week and I chose her Drew is 2 card to CASE.  My grandnephew, Landon, will be 2 in Sept - and I just loved Loll's card with the torn rolling hills and fun truck!

I used a pickup truck from Rubbernecker and added a house and trees to the landscape using my Memory Box die. I also sponged clouds, using a template from Inky Antics,  rather then using die cut ones. And I added a sun with the #2 in it from the Pub Cat Alphabet Set. I used my P-touch label maker for Landon's name.

This fishing themed card is for two Split Coast challenges -
First I cased this great masculine Truckload of Birthday Wishes card of Debbie's our Featured Stamper this past Sunday. I used a different image, made a slightly smaller card, added a sentiment and adhered my oval at an angle.

And I was also able to work it into Tueday's Teapot Challenge - A Man of the Woods - one of the options was to use anything to do with Fishing. Our cards this week will go to Heath - a young man seriously injured in an industrial accident who could use some happy mail to help keep his spirits up!

I love this Rubbernecker sentiment that goes so well with the fishing basket (a creel, I've been informed!). Perfect for Heath the fisherman I thought. And inside I stamped a verse from 1 Peter - Cast your cares upon him for he cares for you. Yikes - another, kind of, fishing reference!

Thanks so much for coming by today!

WMS July Forum Christmas Card Challenge

The Waltzingmouse Forum has a monthly Christmas Card Challenge posted in the Playroom  - the new challenge is posted on the 10th of each month - so July's was just put up -  and it's to use ORANGE on your card!  Certainly a very non-traditional color for Christmas!

I thought it was going to be really hard to create with this color -  but I found once I picked out the stamps I wanted to use and what shades of orange - it was easy and actually came out looking like Christmas!!  Don't you think??  I used Terrecotta Tile card stock with white - and for inks I used Memento Tangelo and Bamboo Leaves.  I added an orange rhinestone to the tree and green rhinestones to the poinsettia style flowers.  It all went together so quickly - I made 5 of them this month (I now have 40 cards in my Christmas box!)
I used the Waltzingmouse Nordic Winter stamp set for my cards this month - a set with some wonderful single stamps as well as several background/border stamps - all in the pretty cross stitch style!

So how about joining us each month??!!   Check it out in the Playroom of the WMS forum!

Butterflies and Pinwheels

Hi Stamping friends!   I have two cards to share with you today.  Both made for Split Coast Stampers challenges.

I keep a box of cards at work to sell to co-workers and it seems that Sympathy cards are always in demand - they are also a card needed on short notice so I try to always have a few in my box.  I needed to replenish my box so I made this card.  There were fun and colorful soaps for the Inspiration Challenge this past Saturday.  I was inspired by the colors in these Cocoanut Lime soaps

I combined this challenge with the Queen For The Day - Angela Maine is the Queen this week - I CASED her lovely Get Well Butterfly card.  I used a text stamp on the strip for the July Cas-ual Fridays challenge - to use text on your CAS card.  The beautiful butterfly die is from Marianne.  The text and sentiment stamps are from Waltzingmouse.  I sponged all the edges with Ranger Distress Old Paper ink.

My second card is a little more upbeat and happy!   I made this card for last week's color challenge on Split Coast.  Vicki's colors for us were white, crumb cake and coral.

I dry embossed a square Nestability in the center of the card and wrapped the satin dotted ribbon around the middle. Then I stamped my little pinwheel on a white square. I stamped the pinwheel again and cut out the smaller center piece adhering that over the first stamping with a foam dot so it sort of looks like the pinwheel is spinning! I added a rhinestone to the center. I adhered the stamped square inside the embossed square with foam tape and stamped the sentiment in the corner!

Well - I'm off to take my car for an oil change and tire rotation - then I'll be enjoying this beautiful summer's day weeding in the garden!
