It' time for the March Reveal for the Card Chain Challenge. This is an international challenge where you sign up to participate each month and you are given a person to send a card to. The challenge has suggestions of colors, themes and sketch to use but you don't have to.
Here is the card I made to send to Joanne in Great Britain. I received a card from Robyn in Australia.
I used the suggested colors - a yellow a blue and a red, the sketch and one of the themes: Friendship.
I die cut the flower out of watercolor paper and water colored it. I die cut the background panel with a crimped frame and sponged over it using a piece of acetate as a mask and using a blending brush to brush on the ink over the edge of the acetate (giving it a linear look) moving the acetate around at different angles and changing the colors. I white embossed the sentiment on the black strip.

What a beauty! This is gorgeous, Julia. Thanks for being a link in our chain, Jo x
Beautiful Julia, love the simplicity of the flower on your geometrical stenciled background ♥
I love that background blending technique, it is so effective and this is gorgeous xx
What pretty colours, fun technique and the most beautiful card Julia x.
Oh, I really really like this card!
That pretty geometric background is the perfect resting spot for this sweet daisy!
And very lovely it is too - I’m enjoying it on the shelf in my kitchen while cooking! I think that’s what used to be called a “retiform” background but my memory could be faulty - looks very effective in any case. Thank you Julia!
LOVE the soft coloured, geometric background with the pretty daisy Julia! Beautiful card! xx
Such a wonderful card Julia, I love those soft colors!
Hugs, Annerieke
