Let Life Surprise You

I've recently been watching Eileen Godwin's wonderful weekly YouTube videos using Lavinia Stamps and beautifully inked backgrounds.  I made this card using a few of the techniques she has taught on her videos.  My card design was also inspired by a card from this week's Featured Stamper over at SCS.

I started by masking the edges of a white card panel.  Then I sponged over the  Drifts and Hills Stencil from MFT using 3 different shades of blue Distress Inks (Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Speckled Egg) shifting the stencil around the panel and sponging the color off the edge of the stencil.
Then I placed the Pebble Stencil from Lavina over the panel and sponged lightly over just a part of the stencil.
I stamped the Eden fairy, the two Mushroom Lanterns and the Mini Stars 2 using Obsidian ink.
(I confess I had a little smudge of black on the tendrils of the fairies hair and stamped a star to cover the smudge!)
Then I stamped the sentiment from Tiny Text by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous.
I die cut a circle out of acetate and used the circle itself as a mask, placing it over the head of the fairy and sponging around the edge of the circle mask which created a spot light around her head.
To finish off, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss Simply White on her wings, the mushrooms and stars.

I'm linking my card to:

Stamps:  Eden, Mushroom Lantern Set, Stars 2 Mini - Lavinia Stamps, Tiny Text - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous
Ink:  Obsidian - Altenew, Ranger Distress Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Speckled Egg
Paper: Bristol Smooth Surface, White, clear acetate- PTI
Accessories:  Drifts and Hills Stencil - MFT, Pebble Stencil - Lavinia, round sponges with applicator, Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White Gloss, Circle Spellbinder die, masking tape.

Such a beautiful, dreamy creation! I love what you did with the stencils on that background and the images you chose are perfect for that dreamy effect. Love the addition of the Nuvo drops as well. Great recovery with the star on the tendril. Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!
