September CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Today, the September CAS Christmas Card Challenge has been posted.  Hideko is our talented hostess this month and she would like us to use Sparkle and/or Shine on our CAS creations this month!

Here's the card I created - a sparkly Christmas tree with 3 shiny gems!

I made the tree using Layered Pine Bigz die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix, cutting one piece of green glitter paper and the other layer from blue glitter paper.  I used Pierced Fancy Flakes Cover Plate from Honey Bee Stamps for the background, giving interest but keeping it CAS.  The sentiment is from Simple Strips: Christmas cut with Simple Strips from Taylored Expressions.  I splattered the tree with a white POSCA pen.  I added 3 clear gems and popped the tree up on foam dots.

So please join us this month and link up your CAS Christmas card full of Sparkle and/or Shine!  You'll find the challenge here, along with lots of inspiration from the design team and our lovely September guest designer, JoAnn!

Stamps: Simple Strips: Christmas - Taylored Expressions
Paper: White - PTI, blue and green glitter paper - Michaels (Recollections)
Ink: Obsidian - Altenew
Accessories: Simple Strips die - Taylored Expressions, Layered Pine Bigz die - Tim Holtz/Sizzix, Pierced Fancy Flakes Cover Plate - Honey Bee Stamps, foam dots, white POSCA Pen, clear gems - Buttons Galore and More.

What a cool two-tone Christmas tree, Julia! You caught the pretty sparkle of the tree and shine of the gems so well in the picture. The pierced snowflake pattern in the background served the purpose 100% (giving interest but keeping the card CAS), and the splattered snow on the tree is a wonderful finishing touch!

What a pretty shaped tree and I love these colors together! The pierced snowflake background is perfect for adding interest and not bulk or busyness!
