A Plant Print Gift Bag - Stamps Available Now!

Here's another sneak peek using 3 of the stamps in the Plant Prints 8 stamp set by Artful INKables . I used my Adirondack ink pads to stamp on this cute little canvas bag (6"x5 1/2").

First I cut a square out of a piece of scrap card stock. I laid the frame with the open square center over the back. Then I sponged inside the square with Hazlenut Ink and a little bit of Lake Mist. Then I removed the frame stencil and stamped the large fern with Lettuce Ink, the small fern with Meadow Ink and the blossom with Eggplant Ink.

The leaf stem tag is punched from a Sizzix die. I added a circle at the top so it was wide enough to attach an eyelet so I could hang it from the handle on the bag with a piece of hemp. I stamped the sentiment from the Basic Salutations set on a scrap of cream card stock punched it with my oval punch, sponged the edges with Hazelnut ink and just attached it across the leaf stem.

This would make a great little thank you gift to fill with tea bags, or chocolate (!) or any small gift you know the recipient would enjoy and it works up in just a few minutes! It took longer to fix the tag than to do all the stamping!

Note: I sprayed the front of my bag with a clear acrylic matte sealer that I got at Michaels to seal the ink and prevent smudging. I'm not sure if it needed that or not. The canvas bag came in a set of 5 also purchased at Michaels . It says you should only hand wash them with a mild soap if they need washing. I have not washed this so cannot say if the ink fades out or not. I don't think, in the normal scheme of things, you'd be washing this little bag anyway.
