Embossed and Thinking About You

I made this card for the Tuesday Tea Party over on Split Coast - this week it's all about flowers - and if we choose - our cards will be going to Sherry. (There is always a destination for the cards we make for the Tea Party).  It's the anniversary of her husband's passing from a tragic car accident so it's a hard time of year for her.

My card design was inspired by these garnet slippers from the MacKenzie-Childs web store from Saturday's Inspiration Challenge.

I started with a panel of  brushed gold card stock from SU. I stamped a background stamp from Victorian Fripperie with Versamark ink over the whole panel and embossed it black. I dyed some white lace black using Ranger Distress black soot re-inker for under the flower which is from Michaels (they come with the crystals already on them!). The leaf is from Roses in Bloom and the sentiment is from Fancy Phrases - all stamps are from Waltzingmouse.

Inside (not shown) I stamped Psalm 46:1 - God is our strength, an ever-present help in trouble. from the Beautiful Blessings set from Papertrey Ink.

I hope my card will bring pleasure to Sherry and that the Psalm verse will bring her comfort.

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - background stamp from Victorian Fripperie set, leaf from Roses in Bloom, Sentiment from Fancy Phrases
Paper: white, true black, simply chartreuse - PTI, Brushed gold - SU
Ink: Versifine Onyx Black, Versamark, black soot reinker Ranger Distress
Accessories: flower - Michaels, foam tape, scallop oval punch - SU, lace - Mark's Finest Papers, black embossing powder, hot gun, Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive

This is so beautiful Julia, I love the background you created with the gorgeous border stamp, and that glittered bloom just pops against the gold.
