Rustic Snow

I have a Mixed Media Christmas tag to share today.  I started my design with something I just saw in an advertisement for the Renegade Craft Fair in the December 2015 25th Anniversary Issue of Martha Stewart that came in the mail this week.   See the package in the middle with the foliage and red washi tape?
Here is how I used that inspiration on my creation.
I die cut the tag out of Kraft cardstock and then stenciled it with Tim's Stripes stencil using Iced Spruce Distress Ink.  I used Tim's Speckles stencil with Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste for the 'snow'.  I looped some Linen Ribbon through the hole and added a Jingle Brad.  The 25 is die cut out of Brushed Gold cardstock and layered with foam dots.
I used Spruce and Sprigs stamps and dies for the pieces of foliage.  I layered them with foam dots and added a piece of Washi Tape across their stems (it looks like I have the exact same tape they used on the package in the ad!).  I knotted a piece of tinsel string from Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop around the tag looping the tails behind it.  I adhered two Small Talk/Occasions stickers and stamped Merry Christmas along the bottom.
To make this tag into a Christmas decoration that could be put on display -  I die cut Tim's small easel and adhered it to the back.
I'm linking my rustic tag to several challenges:

Stamps:  Spruce and Sprigs - PTI, Crazy Talk - Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous

Julia, This tag has such an icy feel to it, but yet love the neutral shades with which you've selected as your color themes. The spruce stenciling looks fab against the kraft background, and the tiny sprigs of white foliage with the pops of red, just fabulous. So dimensional and love the design. Also enjoyed the banner at the top of your blog. Ireland is a fascinating place to visit (I was there in '91, would love to go again). TFS & thanks for joining in with Loll's 12 Tags and HLS tags too. Hugs

Beautiful Julia!! I love the idea of a stand-up tag and yours is just wonderful! I love the way you created your snowy background, and the wood pattern really gives it a cottage feel (totally where I'm at these days, lol). Thank you so much for joining us at Anything But Cute for our 'It's Ornamental' challenge! Hugs, Pamellia DT :)

I love your tag, thank you for sharing your inspiration! I really like the subtle background on the kraft, aND the jingle bell looks so rustic on the shabby ribbon. I do a lot of tags, and while I've added cardstock in the back to make them a card (and effective easel), I never thought to put a straight-up easel on one! You're a genious!
