Coffee Lovers Fall Blog Hop - National Coffee Day

It's National Coffee Day today - and I'm celebrating with another card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop
For this card I used a die cut cup and saucer (I received free in an order from the Funkie Junkie Boutique, Linda includes a little envelope of free things in every order) it's Tim Holtz Tea Time die. (is 'tea' a swear word here??! well, my cup has espresso in it! ) The sentiment is from Coffee Set by Waltzingmouse.  I used papers with fall colors to fit the fall theme, as well as gold, orange and brown on the cup and saucer.
I used a cool technique on my cup and saucer called Faux Gilded Technique that Wendy Vecchi created - you can see it on this You Tube video.  I rubbed Wendy's Metallic Gold Embossing paste lightly over the die cut cup and saucer - not covering it entirely.  Then I sponged over both pieces with Wendy's Archival Orange Blossom Ink and then Tree Branch InkIt's shiny IRL but it doesn't show in the pic.
Have you seen all of the prizes up for grabs over at the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop??  Check it out here - and link up your card!

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Double Strength Venom Latte

I'm excited to be participating in the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop!  You can join in as well - check it out here!

When I first saw the Fall theme - I thought leaves and pumpkins - but then my thoughts turned to Halloween!!!  So here we have Double Strength Venom Latte a special coffee served only during the Halloween season!  I black embossed the venom sentiment  from Wanda's Pantry by Waltzingmouse
on the cup sleeve.
I die cut the Fresh Brewed cup pieces out of brown, orange and red  Core-dinations Krat Core papers - that I then sanded so some of the kraft showed through.  I also sponged the edges with Ranger Distress Ground Espresso Ink (how appropriate!)   I got the bat diecut as a free gift with an order I got from Funkie Junkie Boutique - (Linda includes a little envelope of fun free 'stuff' with every order you get from her shop!) How perfect that, it too, had been cut from the kraft core paper!
The little silver spider and web charm was another free gift I got in an order from Funkie Junkie.  I dropped some Espresso Adirondack Alcohol Ink on it to color it a bit.
The background panel is a piece from Idea-ology Paper Stash - Regions Beyond - a super fun pack of Halloween designs!
Hope to see you over at the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop -  there are TONS of super prizes to be won!  The hop runs from 9/25/15 - 10/2/15!
Stamps:  Wanda's Pantry - Waltzingmouse

Pucker Up

Happy Hump Day everyone!  Half way to the weekend - whoo hoo!!
Today I have another quick and easy Christmas card for the 'box'!
(they were so simple to do I made 4 while I had the supplies out!)
I've had this cute little 'mouse under the mistletoe' Amuse stamp for a long time - and I think this is just the 2nd time I've inked her up.
I stamped my little mouse on Vintage Cream cardstock and colored her with Copics.  I added a few red berries to the mistletoe just to give a little more color to the image!

I'm linking my card to the following challenges:

A Vintage Journey Destination Inspiration

All Aboard at Terminal 3! Greetings fellow travelers!  I  am the  A Vintage Journey Creative Guide this week for our Destination Inspiration journey! We always travel light for these journies - and for each Monday in September our trunks contain these 4 essential items:
1. Product - Distress Ink
2. Technique - Wrinkle Free Distress: Compendium of Curiosities Vol 1 Pg 33
3. Color - Wild Honey
4. Substrate - Anything 3D
Well - 3D is right up my train track - I LOVE making 3D items -  here is what I created with my Essential Items!
I made my house using the Sizzix Where Women Cook Box House die along with window and door dies from Where Women Cook Windows and Movers and Shapers Mini Openings Set.
Did you notice my gray kitties looking out of the front door above and the window below?
This cute little house is actually a box that opens on the bottom so you could put a little gift inside!
You will find a tutorial and lots more photos in my Destination Inspiration post over at A Vintage Journey.  I would love if you could drop by there!

Don't Stand Under the Mistletoe

Happy Saturday everyone!   I have a quick, super CAS post today!    Did you know the mistletoe berries are actually white?  Most photos show the berries red - so perhaps people mix holly with mistletoe??
And they grow in trees - using the tree to support them. (I googled Mistletoe to find all these fun facts!)
So here is my accurately presented Mistletoe card!! I absolutely love this mistletoe stamp from the Festive Foliage set by Waltzingmouse.
I simply stamped the mistletoe and this lovely sentiment from Alpine Christmas onto a piece of Vintage Cream Linen Cardstock and was done!  One more card for the Christmas card box! (and I actually made 4 of these while I was at it!)

I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
Addicted to CAS  Code Word Leaves

Stamps:  Festive Foliage, Alpine Christmas - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  Vintage Cream Linen Cardstock - PTI

Fusion Challenge - Sept 17 - Peacock Dynasty

It's time for another Fusion Challenge  - what great school themed cards everyone made for the last one!  Here is today's challenge and, as you know by now -  you can be inspired by the photo OR the sketch - OR you can do a FUSION and be influenced by both!
Today I went with both!  I used a bird instead of a peacock and I moved the pieces around a bit on the sketch -  but that's allowed!!
I used Tim Holtz' Bird Silhouette Die, cutting it out of white card stock and coloring it with Brushos - I tapped Turquoise, Orange and Ultra Marine crystals on the bird and then spritzed it with water and the crystals just BURST into color - the more you spray with water - the more they blend.  I dried it with my heat gun.
The Pretty Circles die is  from Waltzingmouse.  The little heart is a Movers and Shapers small heart.  I adhered the bird and white heart with foam dots.  The sentiment stamp is from a set by Dina Wakley called Scribbly Birds.
How will you be inspired??  Can't wait to see!  You will find the challenge, the link, and lots of inspiration from my fellow teamies over at the Fusion Blog here.

I'm also linking my card to Darnell's challenge:
I've had the bird die for months and this is the first time I've finally used it!

Make Art for Christmas II

I have another Christmas card to link to Wendy Vecchi's  September Make Art Challenge

For this card I used Wendy's Basically Brick Stencil with Orange Blossom Ink.   I didn't ink it completely leaving some open spaces.  I stamped and stenciled the wreath from the SISI  For the Holidays set and the sentiment from Holiday Art.  I stamped the bow on a piece of the background I created earlier using WV Archival Re-inkers and Rubbing Alcohol (see this post) , cut it out and layered it over the wreath with foam dots.  I added some red rhinestones and an Idea-ology Gum Drop that I colored with Butterscotch Alcohol Ink.
You can find out how I made the background (before inking the brick stencil) on my first Make Art for Christmas post here.
I was totally inspired by Wendy's card below from her new brochure

While I had all my WV supplies out -  I also created a thank you card, using yet another piece of the inked background I had made.
I stenciled the trees from the SISI Holiday Icons set.  I stamped parts of the panel with Script and Ornate Dots background stamps.  The lacey stamp across the top is from A Passion for Art,
the sentiment is from All Occasion Art.  The hearts are die cut from Thinlit Shape Strips and I embossed them with WV Geranium Red Embossing Powder.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
