A Candle in a Bottle

I am so excited to share my card today  -   I just love how it came out.  I used a brand new Alterations die - Apothecary Jars - cutting it out of Clearly for Art Modeling Film and then covering it with Glossy Accents to make it look more like a glass bottle.

The candle, holly, berries and flame are from Bright Season, the sentiment is from Seasonal Remedies and the pine cones are from Festive Foliage all from Waltzingmouse.  I wasn't sure how I was going to attach the clear jar to the card without any adhesive showing.  I decided to adhere the candle to the card base with foam dots so it's popped up - then I put some Crystal Ice Stickles on the inside bottom of the jar - I put runner adhesive on the front of the candle and holly and ScorTape on the back of the cork stopper - then pressed the jar onto the candle and the adhesive stuck to the jar - and the cork stuck to the card.
I just LOVE how these apothecary jars have stoppers for each of the 3 styles of jars on the die and I cut mine out of thin cork from Staples.  However, my dear husband kindly pointed out to me that you would not have the stopper in the jar when you were burning the candle!  So consider this a little poetic license!!  I used a border embossing folder to make the lines at the top to look like the shutters on the inspiration photo below.

I was inspired to create this card by this weeks Festive Friday Challenge
Beautiful isn't it?!

Well I love your jar as well Julia...husbands are so literal sometimes aren't they...no imagination!I'd never have thought about the stopper and the lack of air.
Great card.

Never gave the cork a second thought--it could have had a hole on the top for air (lol) Maybe next time, you could show the cork laying next to the jar to make it more authentic. Meanwhile, your card is beautiful!
