Waltzingmouse Oct Previews - Day 1 - Seasonal Remedies

I'm so excited to be bringing you a Waltzingmouse Preview today!  Claire has designed 6 wonderful holiday sets for us this month - just in time for our holiday decorating, gift and card giving needs!
Today the Design Team is highlighting Holiday Remedies a lovely labels set (a holiday version of last years Rescue Remedies!) - and I made a card and an altered gift item!

For my 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" card I used the two smallest stamps in the set -  this beautiful framed Holy City and the crown.

I embossed an oval Nestability on my card and then silver embossed the crown above the frame.  Next I stamped the image on white, cut it with a slightly smaller oval, adhering it inside the oval with foam tape.   The Merry Christmas is from another new set we will be previewing on 10/14.

My next project is an altered jar of Strawberry Preserves!  I stamped this fun label which is actually a square and die cut it with a circle Nestability so it fit on the cover.  I sponged all the edges with Ranger Distress Old Paper ink.
For the sides of the jar - I measured around the jar and cut a panal 1/2" longer (for overlap) and the height of the jar which just happened to fit the label (well, almost!)  Then I stamped the label side by side until the panel was covered. I adhered the panel to the jar using ScorTape.  Helpful Hint:  when you want to cover a jar - look for one that has straight sides -then a panel will adhere around it nicely!

I made a label for my Gift Jar by stamping the holly and berries from Festive Foliage and the sentiment "A Gift for You" from Compliments of the Season.  I punched a hole in the top and tied it around the jar with twine.  This really dresses up the Strawberry Preserves don't you think?!

Now off we go to see what the rest of the crafty Design Team ladies have to inspire our creativity!  I hope you'll stop by tomorrow to see another new Waltzingmouse set preview (it's a set you haven't seen ANYWHERE else!) -  Release day is Saturday October 15th.
