Saving for Vacation!

For the month of August -  Eileen Hull's Sizzix Inspiration Team has been asked to use any of her Heartfelt dies in a unique/unexpected way.
I decided to use her House/Pocket Stichlet die along with her Block/Cube 3D die for my project:
A bank to use to save for vacations!
I die cut the pieces I would need for the project.  I cut the block out of cream matboard, the house out of both Rustic Cream card and patterned paper from St. Tropez by Prima (love this colorful barnwood paper!) and the windows, door and eaves out of corrugated card.   I also die cut window panes out of Summer Sunshine card to look like the cabin was cozily lit up inside! I added a Hex Fastener for a doorknob and Idea-ology Small Talk/Occasions stickers.
You can see the tool I used to cut the coin slot in the photo above.  It's something I've had for years.
Here's how the bank looks from the side:
From the top.  The coin slot can also be cut using an X-acto knife.
and from the back!  The sticker on the back is from Idea-ology Metallic Stickers/Quotations and I printed VACATION FUND using my Brother Label Maker.   I left the bottom flap of the box unglued so the money can be removed come vacation time!
Saving might be fun when it's in a cute little summer cottage!  And having it sit on a shelf where you see it everyday is a good reminder to put something in it!
You will find unique and unexpected creations all month by the Inspiration Team over on Eileen's blog.  I hope you'll check it out and that they encourage you to use your dies in unexpected ways!

I'm also linking to the following challenges:
Inspired by the house/windows

Paper:  St. Tropez - Prima, Rustic Cream and Summer Sunrise - PTI, Corrugated Paper - The Write Stock, Cream Little Sizzles Matboard - Sizzix.
Accessories:  Dies - House/Pocket Stitchlets and Block/Cube 3D - Eileen Hull/Sizzix, Idea-ology Hex Fastener, Small Talk/Occasions, Metallic Stickers/Quotations,  Brother Label Maker, Slit Punch, hammer, Tombow Glue, ScorTape.

Stunning, stunning, stunning! It is indeed exactly like a wooden cabin, cosily lit from inside. Fantastic planning and great choice of products: the barnwood paper is perfect and I love the texture of the corrugated card. You've done a fabulous job of our Great Outdoors theme. Thank you for sharing with us at The Paper Players.

Awesome project, Julia! Love the idea of making a bank. I have that same slot tool ... I think I used it one, many years ago. I hope your bank fills up quickly for your next adventure. xx
