I've had a cold for about 3 weeks now - it keeps changing the area it's affecting in my body- This week it's been a terrible sore throat and I actually lost my voice for 2 days - so I've been home from work - and in between naps - I had some time to make a card for a few challenges. (I'm also going to see the doctor tomorrow morning to be sure it's not strep throat.....)
I made my flower by layering Newsprint Paper to Clearly for Art Modeling Film using Glue N Seal - (see this technique on Wendy Vecchi's blog here). The result is that you can heat it with your heat tool, the Modeling Film will soften, and then you can mold it. It keeps it's molded shape after cooling. I just stamped the flower part on the Newsprint and used the stencil that comes with the stamp to color it. I stamped the leaves on white card stock, coloring it using the stencil. I had stamped it first directly on the card panel, I masked the images and sponged the panel with Distress Inks and flicked water over the panel. Then I layered the basket, bloom and leaf pieces over the stamped images with foam tape. I brushed some Glitter Glaze from MFT over the center of the coneflower.
The basket is a stencil from Martha Stewart Crafts. The sentiment is a Wendy Vecchi Stencil - I added the ... with a black Glaze pen. The little butterflies are a new die from Tim Holtz that I embossed with Wendy Vecchi Orange Blossom and Cornflower Blue Embossing Powders. I die cut the panel with Stitched Edge Rectangle from Lil' Inker.
I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
