Mixed Media - Counting My Blessings

Today I have my Mixed Media Color Challenge project to share with you.  Mona Pendleton and Sue Lelli give us a wonderful color inspiration every other Friday.  I'm new to Mixed Media and I can't wait for each new challenge to come out so I can learn more stuff techniques!

So for this challenge -  I used a sweet little 4"x4" canvas that I got at Michaels - I think they were 2 for $4.00 and they were having a 50% off sale (how can you go wrong?!)  The wrinkled seam tape along the top is actually a handle so I can hang this up.  It's attached at the corners.
Here's the canvas from the side to show you how thin it is. (and you can see my little glass bird holding it up!)
I used lots of supplies on this -  patterned paper, die cuts, a canvas banner, lace, a flower, rhinestones, a brass tack, wrinkled seam tape and a partridge in a pear tree two stencils..
The mediums I used are - Mod Podge, Distress Stain, Distress Crackle Paint, Black Embossing Paste and Light Modeling Paste.
I feel like I'm still a little bit too stiff organized in my design - because each layer has to dry before adding more - I put something on it in the morning -  put something else on it after work -  add something else before I go to bed  - I sort of plan the design as I go along seeing how each things works out - rather than having a full vision before starting.   I don't know if there is a 'right' way to do this?!

Anyway -  I'm happy with my little project - and every time I look at it - it will remind  me to 'Count My Blessings!" which includes being able to express myself with crafts like this!

Stamps:  Beautiful Blessings - PTI
Paper:  Vintage Cream - PTI, DP Authentique Uncommon Paper Pad
Ink:  Versamark Onyx Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen
Accessories:  4"x4" Canvas frame - Michaels, stencils - Concentric Circles/MFT, Mini Chicken Wire/The Crafters Workshop, Mat Mod Podge, lace - Ellen Hutson, flower - Taylored Expressions, muslin banner - Heidi Swapp Trimmings, Worn Lipstick Distress Stain - Ranger, Antique Linen Cracked Paint, Distress Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy - Ranger, Light Modeling Paste - Liquitex, arrow die - MFT, heart punch - EK Success, Wrinkled Seam Tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, rhinestones - Kaiser.

So very cool. Love all the elements and layers ... and a wonderful expression of your creativeness! I'm afraid I would have a hard time being patient waiting for the layers to dry. Loll xx
