To celebrate this special event we're doing something a little bit different today. Each Mischief Maker and Design Team member who is participating in today's sketch challenge has chosen a sketch from the past year and made a card for it.
So you get to pick which sketch you'd like to use from all of those we have chosen!! How fun is that?!?! - you can see the sketch choices and all the details of this special sketch challenge over at the WMS Sketch blog.
Here is the sketch that I chose to use today - Sketch # WMSC16
And here is the card I made using this sketch:
I die cut the banners out of felt with my Nested Lacey Penant Nestabilities. and I used Petite Oval Nestabilities to die cut my sentiment which is from the Say It Loud set. I'm thinking with the dark colors, the felt banners and minimal accessories - this would make a good masculine card, right?!?!
..... and just for fun - I went searching back in my blog to find the card I made when this sketch was originally used on September 25, 2010 and here it is:
So come along and join us for this special 1 year Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - you'll find all the details over at the WMS Sketch Blog!

Julia - I really like your new WMSC16 card - the big celebrate oval is super and the felt adds so much texture. Like the one you made for it last year too!
I really like the idea for this week's challenge. I thought 16 was my first WMSC challenge - but it turns out my first was WMSC15!
As for Claire's stamps - I have most of them - I think my favourite is Free Spirit - I use it such a lot to make cards for my teenage son!
Congrats! One year of WMS Sketches! I love the stamps of WMS and my favorite is Teeny Trees!
My favorite set of all times ...my go to set when nothing else fits is Celtic Heritage. Your WMSC card id fabby!!!! (To coin a word from Teeny Trees set.)
Love your cards Julia! They are both great! I only have 2 sets so far but I'm really wishing for more!
Love the card, especially the felt! Yes, I think the colors are great for masculine card :) I don't own any WS stamps yet, (I'm slowly building my collection from various companies I love!) but my fave from the store is the Vintage Banners!!! Thanks for the chance to win!
Julia, your work is fabulous, as always! I love the WMS sets that I have, but right now my go-to set has go to be Earth Angel. Haven't bought any recently, trying to save my pennies...
What a fab card, love it turned on it's side. Happy birthday WMSC! I can remember the first challenge, I made two cards for it and I couldn't choose which one to post, so entered them both! WMSC remains my favourite sketch challenge, I love Saturday mornings and checking out the new sketch!
I have a lot of WMS, and right now my favourite is the Dainty Doilies, but my first 'love' is Earthangel, I just adore the little girl and butterfly combinations, and the sentiments in that set too are lovely.
Ooo I love felt on cards and you're right -- great masculine card! I don't own any WMS, and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite from all the pretty ones there are!
Beautiful cards, Julia. And I don't have ANY WMS, although I've been drooling over them for quite some time. My favorite is the rescue remedies! Thanks for a chance to possibly win one of these fabulous WMS products!
I don't own any WS stamps but hope to someday. I love looking at all of your creations with the WS stamps.

Hi Julia,
Congratulations on a year of super sketches. I have 6 sets but my favourite is the Teeny Trees set - I just love it. Can always make room for another set though, so heres hoping.
Hugs

I love both, even if one is much older! LOL The felt is a wonderful touch too!
I am really loving the bigger sentiments! Great focal image~ Sadly, I can't tell you which WM stamp I like as I don't have any :( -- however, if I am the random winner, I WILL THEN!! and, THAT would be my favorite! ;)
What a wonderful card for this special challenge. I love that you showed the card you originally made with this sketch. Both cards are stunning. Love your felt pennant strips. Great creativity.
I love the felt strips and that fall plaid is so pretty! My go to set is Fancy Phrases, by far, but I don't have Say it Loud yet... :)
Please exclude me from the contest post, hee!
But I had to come over and say that I love your fun card for the sketch! You featured your Say it Loud set perfectly. My FAVE WMS set? Oh dear, what to chooooose? But you know I gotta go with Earth Angel, so much to love about it, and whenever I make a card with it, I leave my table feeling so happy!
Well Julia ~ You have done it again. Both of these last two posts are breathtaking. I just love that adorable gingerbread man! As for which set I would love to have...heck, I hate to admit it, but I do not have any...except for all of the "freebie" templates I have downloaded and used bunches of times! I like all of the WMS stamps...my go to favorite right now is the "Bountiful Baskets." They are so cute! Thanks for the chance to win!!
What wonderful cards Julia! Love the felt strips and the soft coloring around the sentiment on the first and the Fall theme of the original! One of my favorite sketches!
I sadly don't own any WM stamps. They are next on my list of things to buy but as I am pregnant and want a really nice stroller, it may have to wait. Sad for the stamps but im thrilled about the baby! I'd love to win a set so I can finally play the sketch challenges!
I think both of the last two cards would be good guy cards-love them.
I don't own any WMS stamps but the one you are giving away would be a neat one to have@
Congrtulations Julia. I always look forward to your e-mails with all of your great cards etc. I do not have any WMS as yet but maybe I'll be lucky to win one.

Wow, hard to believe a whole year has passed! Great card! I most definitely would work for a masculine card. I love the felt banners.
My favorite WMS set? I've been pondering this - it's a difficult question! I'm going to go with Sewing Box Hugs.
I love your cards! I am loving what cards I've seen using Say it Loud. What a great set! I also have wanted Vintage Labels #4 forever. I don't have any WMS yet but keep mulling over an order to get the free shipping. Would love to win a set!
What a cool card! That's a great sketch you chose, and the colors are wonderful!
Yes, I do own several WMS sets! It's hard to pick a favorite but it might be Celtic Heritage since I have gotten so much mileage out of it from both images and sentiments, but I also really LOVE my two Sewing Box sets, plus the backgrounds, plus the doilies, plus the Rescue Remedies--oops, you said pick one, I know...Anyway, thanks for the chance to win, would LOVE to have that set!
Oh wow, my favorite WM stamp? There have been so many over the past year or so. I have to say I love all of the Vintage Labels, it took me forever to pick just two when I ordered them. Also, Rescue Remedies is so sweet and I love using it. But I would really like to have Say It Loud! That is one that's still on my wish list!
No, I don't own any Waltzingmouse stamps yet, but I'm hoping after tomorrow that I'll have Say It Loud. My number one choice other than that would be Vintage Labels 3, or 1, or 2. Guess how many Nestie Labels I have! Thanks for this chance to win. I'm a Follower of your blog but, quite frankly, forget to check Google. I'd much prefer to get you in my email. Any chance of that happening?
