Love is a Beautiful Thing

Hello dear friends! Happy Columbus Day!

There is a month long challenge going on over at Split Coast Stampers. Every day in October there is a challenge for creating a card. And, if you care to, all the cards you create can be sent to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to be either sent to, or used by, the Cancer Patients and their families. How wonderful is that! They call the challenges "Hope You Can Cling To".

So here are two cards I created so far. The challenge for this one was issued by Bev (Texasgrammy) and was to use flowers - with an extra challenge to make your own. I made my flowers out of mulberry paper. (you can see a tutorial on making the flowers here)
I CASE'd the sketch from SCS featured stamper Jenn's gallery - her bokay card

Stamps: Rubbernecker - Create a Garden Set #512, Garden Phrases Set #508
Paper: white, dark chocolate - PTI, mulberry Paper, DP Indian Summer Basic Grey Paper pack
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Tea Dye, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint
Accessories: pearls - Kaiser, Copics: YG95, E11, E13, E19, Foam dimensionals, Scotch Quick Dry adhesive

My second card was a challenge issued by Cindy (Mothermark) to make a square card and use at least 3 squares total on your card.

My card is a square, my DP's are squares (ok - some of them have curvy edges but they are still equal sided!) And my sentiment is 4 squares side by side!! Even my button is a square!
The color of the cardstock with my sentiment on it really does coordinate with the patterned papers - it looks off color in the pic!! I white embossed the sentiment/image which is from Rubbernecker
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit today! I'm enjoying a day off from work - Kent and I are going for a hike on this beautiful New England fall day! What will you be doing today??
Stamps: Rubbernecker - From the Heart - Love Block #246-02
Paper: white, berry sorbet - PTI, DP Imaginesce Fairest of them All
Ink: versamark
Accessories: white embossing powder, hot gun, Labels 16 Nestabilities, butterfly punch - Martha Stewart, button & ribbon -PTI, glue dot, foam dimensionals, rhinestone stickers - Michaels
