Wishing You.....

I've had a cold for about 3 weeks now -  it keeps changing the area it's affecting in my body- This week it's been a terrible sore throat and I actually lost my voice for 2 days -  so I've been home from work - and in between naps - I had some time to make a card for a few challenges. (I'm also going to see the doctor tomorrow morning to be sure it's not strep throat.....)
I made my flower by layering Newsprint Paper to Clearly for Art Modeling Film using Glue N Seal - (see this technique on Wendy Vecchi's blog here).  The result is that you can heat it with your heat tool, the Modeling Film will soften, and then you can mold it.  It keeps it's molded shape after cooling.  I just stamped the flower part on the Newsprint and used the stencil that comes with the stamp to color it.  I stamped the leaves on white card stock, coloring it using the stencil.  I had stamped it first directly on the card panel, I masked the images and sponged the panel with Distress Inks and flicked water over the panel.  Then I layered the basket, bloom and leaf pieces over the stamped images with foam tape.  I brushed some Glitter Glaze from MFT over the center of the coneflower.
The basket is a stencil from Martha Stewart Crafts.  The sentiment is a Wendy Vecchi Stencil - I added the ... with a black Glaze pen.  The little butterflies are a new die from Tim Holtz that I embossed with Wendy Vecchi Orange Blossom and Cornflower Blue Embossing Powders.  I die cut the panel with Stitched Edge Rectangle from Lil' Inker.
I'm linking my card to the following challenges:

Mixed Media Card Challenge - Flowers - optional basket
Try it On Tuesday - New Beginnings  (birthday card - beginning a new year)
City Crafter - Anniversary Case #2 (inspired by the flowers)
Simon Says - Wednesday challenge - April Showers or Spring Flowers
Simon Says - Monday - In the Middle
Frilly & Funkie - Spring time Die cuts (small butterfly)

Stamps:  Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 - Stamp it and Stencil It Coneflower.
Paper:  White - PTI, Newsprint and Clearly for Art Modeling Film - Wendy Vecchi Studio 490/Ranger.
Ink:  Wendy Vecchi Archival Leaf Green, Tree Branch, Orange Blossom, Dandelion, Cornflower Blue; Archival Jet Black, Ranger Distress Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistacio.
Accessories:  Stitched Mat Rectangle - Lil' Inker Designs, Butterfly - Movers and Shapers/Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi Embossing Powder Orange Blossom and Cornflower Blue, Black glaze pen - Sakura, Glitter Glaze - MFT, Basket Stencil - Martha Stewart Crafts Holiday Icons, Wishing you from ALl Occasion Sentiment Stencil - Wendy Vecchi.

I'm glad you got in some creative time, in spite of being under the weather, Julia. Your colorful and dimensional card is fantastic! I'm glad you are seeing the doctor tomorrow. I know there is something nasty that gets in and takes hold for weeks and it sounds like it found you. I hope you get some meds to clear up your bug soon!! Big hugs, Darnell
