Happy St. Patrick's Day! - It's also a new Fusion Card Challenge Day - and instead of shamrocks - we're being inspired by Owls!
I was totally inspired by the owls this week rather than the sketch and here's my card:
First I did a watercolor wash on the stitched edge water color paper panel in blue and green. Next, I stenciled the tree. I stamped the owl in Archival black on a piece of Yupo (have you heard of this? it's fairly new - and I'm not really sure how to use it yet - have to check out YouTube!), clear embossed it and then water colored it with Zig Clear Color pens and a water brush. I fussy cut the owl and layered it on the card with foam dots.
What inspires you for this weeks Fusion Card Challenge? The owls or the sketch or will you do both??

You will find all of the Design Teams cards there too - they are also linked below.

Love that stenciled tree on the watercolor wash background, Julia! The owl is so cute! Happy St. Pat's Day to you and thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
Those owls are stinking adorable and I love the wash you did for your background! So sweet! And you're right - you just HAD to do a St. Patty's day card!
Fab watercolouring and wow to the stencilled tree!
Love the tree and that beautiful watercolor wash background, Julia! That owl is such a cutie pie :)
Happy St. Patrick's Day Julia! What a super cute card! That owl is adorable!
LOVE that adorable owl Julia. Gorgeous watercolour wash background and perfect with the stenciled tree. Your owl just pops! I think Yupo would be great for fussy-cutting because it's quite thin ... will have to give that a try. I have just been learning a little about yupo from a friend. Works great with alcohol inks. :)
Your St. Paddy's Day card is awesome! The small shamrock is so sweet!!
Thanks for haring your owl card with us at CAS Mix UP! xx
Wow...fabulous owl card!!! So sweet.
Hi Julia,
Nope, have not heard of the Yupa that I am aware of. It's great you experimented with it. Nothing venture nothing gained! Your background is lovely, soft. Makes the sweet owl stand out nicely!
Too cute. I absolutely adore the sweet little scene you made!
This is such a great card, Julia! Your scene is gorgeous and that little owl is just the cutest!
