WMSC32 Sketch - Hi!

Happy Saturday dear friends! Look at the fun sketch Claire has for us - I think it's to remind us that, Yes - we WILL see flowers again......... sometime........after all the SNOW!!!

I was pretty literal in my interpretation of the sketch this week!

I used WMS Victoriana Digital Paper for my panel and lacey square. The stitched flower and sentiment are from Sewing Box Hugs (another one of my favorite sets!)

I sprayed granite Glimmer Mist on my flower and stem so it looks all sparkly IRL but you can't see it at all in the picture :(

This is also for the SCS Inspiration challenge today - this Gypsy linens set from Rooms by Zoya inspired me with it's colors and flowers!

Ok - so now you'll want to go check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 2/3/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !! Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And there just may be a WMS stamp set to be won too!

Stamps: Sewing Box Hugs - Waltzingmouse

Paper: White - PTI, Victoriana Digital Paper - Waltzingmouse, purples and greens -Coredinations

Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black, Memento New Sprout

Warmed by Your Friendship!

artsy-em was the featured stamper this week over on Split Coast and her put on your party dress card inspired me to create this card. I used different colors and stamps but kept the general theme and sketch.

I bought this dress form die from PTI a few months ago and have been wanting to use it (New Year's resolution to USE my stuff!!!) and I also just got these great Circa 1934 papers from Cosmo Cricket. I paper pieced the 'form' part of the dress form! I sponged the edges of the circle and the sentiment with Ranger Antique Linen ink.

My sentiment is from Blessed by You and frame stamp is from Fancy Phrases both are from Waltzingmouse A perfect sentiment for this 'temps in the single digits' cold and snowy week in New England!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my card for the Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - I hope you can stop by and check it out!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Fancy Phrases, Blessed by You
Paper: Vintage cream - PTI, riding hood red - SU, DP Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934/Astaire & Chaplin
Ink: Riding Hood Red - SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen

Claire's Birthday Blog Waltz!

The WMS Design Team and Mischief Maker Sketch Team are delighted to be blog waltzing today to celebrate our Claire's Birthday!

Claire, as you know, is the owner/designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps. She is just the nicest, most genuine, caring person and I'm so happy and honored to be on her Design Team

The waltz starts at the WMS blog where you'll find the order of the dance if you get lost along the way.

So please waltz along with us today to see a variety of the wonderful stamps Claire has designed and to help us wish her the most happiest of birthdays!

If you came here from Jennifer's blog - you are on the right track!

I went with a green palet today (thinking of Ireland where Claire lives, I guess!). I started with a piece of celtic squares digital paper from WMS. I used stamps from Faux Fun Circles, Victorian Frippery and Frame It on the front. I used circle and lacey circle Nestabilities.

And here's the inside of the card where I used stamps from Frame It and Faux Fun Circles.

Claire always says 'hope it tickles' so I thought it was quite appropriate here!

Happy Birthday dear Claire! Hope you enjoy your very own special Waltz today!!

And now if you'll be so kind as to waltz over to Mischief Maker Edna's blog to see what beautiful creation she has made!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - (circles on front & leaf inside card) Faux Fun Circles, (frame, you're so fabby, hope it tickles, happy birthday) Frame It, (jolly good) Victorian Frippery

Day 2: Grand Calibur Event! & the WMS Sketch

Welcome to Day #2 of the Waltzingmouse Grand Calibur Event - if you missed yesterday - please check out the WMS blog for all the details! And be sure to check the end of my post to see how you can win stuff!
Spellbinders has come out with some wonderful new Grand Dies that are just perfect for making shaped books, photo albums, cards and scrap book pages. So, of course, they also had to design a machine that would cut these larger dies! And here it is - the Grand Calibur!!!

Due to Waltzingmouse Stamps' cross promotional partnership with Spellbinders the WMS Design Team were all gifted with a Grand Calibur! whoo hoo!! We thought this was an excellent time to showcase Spellbinders and how well they work with Waltzingmouse Stamps!
And of course prizes and a competition are involved! Just pop over to the Waltzingmouse blog for all the details and links to those who are posting projects each day.
For several years I was an avid scrapbooker - but then card stamping became my addiction and since my only son is grown I kind of left it behind.

BUT........now I have an adorable little grandnephew who needs his life documented!!! so the Grand Calibur and the Grand Dies came along at just the right time for me!

Today I have two 8"x8" scrapbook pages to share with you! One using a photograph from Christmas and one from New Year's Eve! (we already have hundreds of pics of Landon and he's only 4 months old!! LOL!)

My stamps are all from Waltzingmouse and the dies are all Spellbinders. All supplies are listed at the end of my post with links to the stamps and dies.
I just love this photo of Landon laughing with his new found friend, Santa Claus (who dances and plays music when you squeeze his hand)!
And since it's Saturday I incorporated the WMS sketch into my page - I flipped it on it's side up there on the left! See it??? Check out the WMS Sketch blog for more info on the sketch challenge!

My next page is of Landon on New Year's Eve. Now there's a story that goes with this -
Every New Year's Eve my sister, Marcia, would dress her two baby girls (Katie and Chrstie) like this (ie - just a diaper and a sign with the new year written on it!) They would wear sparkly hats and have a happy time ringing in the new year. So, of course Katie, Landon's mum, is continuing this fun tradition!! And doesn't Landon look like he's having a great celebration on his very first New Year's Eve!

Here I've laid out all of the Spellbinder dies that I used on my two pages so you can see the comparative sizes. The large Labels One, Circle and Square are from the new Grand Dies.

Just to introduce you to the Grand Caliber - here are some pics.

There is a rubber suction pad on the bottom of the machine and when you turn this white lever, it makes it stick to your smooth surface so it doesn't move when you are using it.

It comes with three plates - a grey (A) base plate, a pink (B) embossing plate with a rubber mat, and a white (C) cutting plate.

When not in use, I'm storing my Grand Calibur on a shelf in my craft room, along with the plates and the Grand Dies that I have so far.

I had this large plastic storage box with white pages that is working perfectly to store my Grand Dies - I use magnet strips to hold them to the pages. I purchased it here.

And now for the fun!!!

Folks who purchase anything over at Waltzingmouse Stamps during this 3-day event (1/21/11 - 1/23/11) will be entered into a drawing. One lucky person will be randomly picked at the end of the 3 days to receive their shopping basket free!

There will be one random winner per day from comments left on one of the DT blogs so you have 3 chances to win!

And finally! there will be a challenge on the WMS blog at the end of the event. Folks are invited to CASE a card/project from the 3 days. You'll have one week to link your entries to the WMS blog post and then Claire or Lisa will pick a random winner for a prize! whoo hoo!
Phew! this was a long post! thanks for sticking with me!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I used Wednesday's SCS sketch to create a birthday card I needed for my niece Katie's husband whose birthday is today!

They are the parents of my dear grand nephew, Landon, who is now 4 months old - so this is Greg's first birthday as a DAD!

I thought it would be fun to send him a card as if it was from Landon himself so I wrote a little note from Landon inside saying how he skyped me when they weren't looking to ask me to make the card for him!

I kept the sketch clean and simple with this adorable photo of Landon front and center. I used bright colors for the panels to match those of the colorful play seat Landon is having so much fun in!

On the inside I put another picture of Landon with his Dad from Thanksgiving -as well as another sentiment. The sentiments are from the Free Spirit Sentiments set by Waltzingmouse.
Gosh, I just love this kid to pieces!!!
Tomorrow I'll be back posting some fun scrapbook pages of Landon as part of Day #2 of the Waltzingmouse 3 day Spellbinders Grand Calibur blitz! Day #1 is today and some of the other WMS DT are posting - Check out all the details on the WMS blog - there are prizes to be won!!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Free Spirit Sentiments
