Inkspirational #349 - Add a Tag

The newest Inkspirational Challenge is up today -

and here is the DT card I made for it.......with a tag added!

I adhered it to the card with a single foam dot in the center so the receiver can easily remove and hang up the tag if they want to!

The tag is 3 3/4" diameter.

I made 2 more tags using this die set but didn't attach them to cards!

I made the tags using Hey Honeycomb Flower Power Die, Inflated Sentiments Stamp Set, and Honey Comb Balls - all from The Greetery.

So please join us and add a tag to your card design!
You'll find inspiration from the rest of the talented Design Team as well as Mr. Linky over at the Inkspirational Blog!

As Carefree as a Seagull

I'm excited to be posting my Seize the Birthday card today as the Surprise Party Guest, having been one of the winners with my card for the Fancy Fold  #307 challenge

I opted for the food option on my card - using the Happy Seagull Die set from Waffle Flower.

If you live near or vacation at the ocean you know how adept seagulls are at sweeping down and stealing food from unwary beach goers!  We live 3 miles from the ocean and most of our mall parking lots that have food stores in them have seagulls sitting on the tall parking lot lights waiting for someone to drop some food!

This guy (or gal!?) is walking off with a whole beach bucket full of fries at the beach!

I embossed the background with Wave Pierced A2 cover plate from Honey Bee and then rubbed ink pads over the sand and sea/sky areas with Ranger Distress Scattered Straw and Speckled Egg.  All the die cuts and sentiment are up on foam dots.

So please join us at Seize the Birthday making it just a birthday card - or using the optional Food &/or Drink!  You'll find the challenge here.

And thank you to Nancy at Seize the Birthday for inviting me to be a surprise party guest!

June Group of Seven Cardmakers - Second Generation Stamping

Here is my 1st card for the June Group of Seven Cardmakers post.

This month we are playing with Second Generation Stamping -  when you stamp an image fully inked then stamp it again without reinking either once or twice.  You'll find a link to Videos on the technique over at the GO7 Blog.

It creates a wonderful depth to your card design.

I went very CAS with this card, simply stamping the image on the left fully inked with Portobello Versafine Clair Ink then stamping again to the right of that stamping and a bit higher, without reinking.

Next,  I stamped the image off the bottom and half off the right side fully inked - then stamped above it (only the left half of the stamp) again way over to the left off the edge with the right half of the stamp.

My card base is watercolor paper and the sentiment is from Paper Artsy.

Trees seem to be the first thing I grab when I think of Generation Stamping (or off stamping) so I wanted to stretch myself and use other stamps and also add some color!

So this card was born (after about 5 aborted attempts using various Lavinia stamps!)
I started by stamping a text background - inking the stamp and stamping it off on paper before stamping on the card panel as I wanted it just to be a shadow.

Then I stamped the dandelion in black and off stamped it - repeating again and the same with the leaf.  And finally I stamped and off stamped the Orchard Grass along the bottom.

To add color (after I made sure the black ink was dry!) -  I sponged over the top with Distress Speckled Egg and over the bottom with Shabby Shutters.

I stamped the sentiment on white card and punched it with an oval punch.  I sponged the edges with the Speckled Egg and popped it up on the card with foam dots.

We hope you'll give this technique a try
(you probably have done this already at some point in your stamping career?! but maybe not for a while?)

You'll find Mr. Linky and lovely inspiration from the rest of the GO7 team over at the blog.
We'd love to see how you use this technique!

Inkspirational Challenge #327 - Seasonal

Just in time for all of the seasons coming up (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Fall, Winter!)  the newest challenge over at Inkspirational is Seasonal!

Since my Halloween cards are all made - I moved on to Thanksgiving/Fall for my SEASONAL design!

I have purchased MANY of the Postage Collage stencil sets from Waffle Flower and I'm making myself get them out and use them!   I try to stencil at least 5 or 6 panels at a time since I have all of the inks out!  Sometimes I use the full panel and sometimes I cut them out and use 3 or 4 sections on a card.

For this card I used the Postage Collage Die and The Postage Collage Fall Stencil set.  I colored in the sky around the Lady Bug with a light blue Copic and added blue enamel dots from Altenew.

The mini strip sentiment and mini strip die are from Taylored Expressions.

So what season do you need to make a card for right now?  Please join us and link up your card over at Inkspirational!

The challenge ends Nov 1.

I'm also sending my card to:

Inkspirational #324 - Designer's Choice - Using Markers

Here's my DT card for the newest Inkspirational Challenge #324 Designer's Choice  -  Nonni is the Designer  this time and she chose - Make Your Mark - use markers on your card design.

I used a coloring on vellum technique I learned last month as a member of the Group of Seven Cardmakers - see my post here to see other ways to use vellum.

I stamped the images onto panels of vellum using Nocturne Versafine Clair Ink which I then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  Then I flipped the panel over and colored over the open spaces with Copics.  I adhered the vellum to the white card base using  an Adhesive Sheet from Sizzix.

This shows the vellum panel flipped over after stamping in black and clear embossing.  Then I just colored over the clear spaces.  Because it's vellum - I went over the colors several times and kept checking the front to be sure the colors showed through dark enough.
The Bold Botanicals stamp set I used has 4 images - 3 floral and one a pinecone and pine sprigs so I tried each stamp coloring with different colors.
The photos below show how I colored on the back of the vellum panels with Copics.
This pinecone one will be a Christmas card!
Here's the coloring on the back.

So how do you use markers on your cards??  Please join us over at Inkspirational!

The challenge ends on 9/20.

Seize the Birthday - Tic Tac Toe

Today is my last day as Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday.  I have so enjoyed participating in the June and July challenges and thank Nanc' and the team again for having me!

The challenge for the next two weeks is Tic Tac Toe!

I chose the top horizontal line -  stripes, one layer and stencil.
Here's the inside of my card to show it is for a birthday - for a sea-loving guy (or gal!)

I used the double stenciling technique for my background that was the Seize the Birthday challenge on June 17th.  If you're interested to see how I double stenciled my background, please see this blog post.

So pick a row of Tic Tac Toe - and join us over at Seize the Birthday!
