Eileen Hull's Sizzix Gift Card Folder Die - An Evening to Yourself

A week ago, I posted a project using Eileen Hull's new House Ornament and this week I'm back using her 2nd new die - Gift Card Folder and Label #2.  Eileen's Inspiration Team is creating all month with these new dies and Eileen will gather all the projects on her blog - so be sure to check it out!
The tag piece fits inside and you can either stamp a sentiment on it - as I did - or you can actually slip a gift card under that tab at the top of the tag.  These stamps are from a set called Gift Card It - by Waltingmouse (unfortunately out of business now)
Here's how the folder looks from the back.
The folder is about 3/8" deep so you could put several tags inside it, a little folder, photos, etc!
I have a few process photos to share with you as well.
I colored the front and back of the folder piece (cut from matboard) using Eileen's new Color Box Blends 2.  Beach for the outside......
Leaf on the inside.
I love using this method of mixing some of the thick ink on my craft mat, spritzing with water and then pouncing the watery mix on with a sponge.  It results in a great splatter look with light and dark shades of the same ink!
I used the same patterned paper on the tag piece that I used on my Cottage by the Beach.  I love how summery it looks and it coordinated with the inks perfectly!
I die cut two of the medium and small petals from Eileen's Pansy Flower die, sponged over them with her Clear Color Box Blends to serve as an adhesive for her new White Wonder Molten Dimensions embossing powder.  I didn't want to have the powder cover the complete petal so I could add color with some inks after I melted the powder.
I sponged on the inks in the same manner as the folder - mixing with water and pouncing with a sponge.  I love the way the color only soaked in where there wasn't any embossing powder.
I layered the 4 pieces of the flower over one another and held them together with a clear light green flower brad from my stash.  Another perfect match!  I adhered it a little off center
(I don't always like things lined up perfectly!)
A nice little gift package.
This would be a fun and welcome gift for new parents don't you think?!  The gift of babysitting for them and it could also include a gift card to a restaurant or movie.

With Christmas just around the corner - I thought I'd share some Christmas cards that I made for various Splitcoaststampers challenges over the past month but never posted here on the blog.

I made this card for an Inspiration Challenge where I was inspired by a pillow in Joss & Main on-line Shop
I made these gnome cards for another Inspiration Challenge - where I was inspired by this blue gnome from Christmas Central on line shop.  These 2 are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" sqaures.

Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Have you heard?  It's time for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
Here's the first of hopefully several cards I'm going to make before the Dec 7th deadline!
I used stamps and stencils from Wendy Vecchi's Mug Art set.  I stamped the mug in black and then stenciled the stripes using Wendy Vecchi Fern Green Blendable Dye Ink, the dots and handle in Wendy Vecchi Poppy ink and the 'coffee or cocoa' in Distress Brushed Corduroy.  I used Pierced Feature Frame Oval die from PTI - raising the outside piece on foam dots.   The papers are Paper Stash/Christmas from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology.  I fussy cut the mug and layered on the inside oval using foam dots.  I stamped the sentiment on a white strip and adhered it to the mug and outside frame.
On the inside of my card I adhered a piece of the same red snowflake patterned paper and then stamped a white panel with a stamp from Gift Card It by Waltzingmouse (retired) adhering it on 3 sides so I could slip in a gift card for the receiver!
You really need to check out all the sponsors of this wonderful Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop  - so many prizes to be won by randomly chosen entries!  Thank you Amy for, once again, organizing all this for us!   You'll find all the details here!

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

Today I'm participating in the November Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  Here is the inspiration piece. Lovely white presents tied with colorful ribbons under the tree!
I was inspired by the white paper the red ribbons and the tags!
I made a little 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 3/4" gift box.
I made my box using the book cover die from Betsy's newest Make It Market Kit - Fairy Tale Christmas.  The box piece was cut with the Matchbox Base Die
(which I actually got with Betsy's prior Make It Market Kit - All Through the House).
I die cut one of the tags from Tremendous Tags, added a die cut holly using a die and the patterned paper from the Fairy Tale Christmas kit.  I looped a piece of Marischino Twine through the hole on the tag. The 'tis the SEASON' stamp is from the newly released Enchanted Forest stamp set.
I lined the inside cover and bottom of the box with red Bitty Star Basics paper .
Before I added the paper on the cover, I wrapped a piece of Pure Poppy Grosgrain ribbon vertically around the cover, taping the ends on the inside - then the star paper covered up the tape.
Then I wrapped a 20" piece of Pure Poppy grosgrain around the box horizontally gluing it to the box on the back to hold it in place when untied.
A gift card fits perfectly inside this box - and it's deep enough to hold a small gift - like a bracelet or earrings or even a bar of designer soap!
Now I'm off to check out how everyone else was inspired today!  You'll find the PTI Blog hop here.

Potbellies for Christmas

I just got these fun Potbellie dies from PTI - and I couldn't wait to use them!  There are three different dies  reindeer, penguin and Santa -  this one is the Potbellies: Reindeer die.
The way the die cuts under the arms - makes a perfect slot to fit in a gift card!   The gift card stamp is from Gift Card It by Waltzingmouse (retired) and the Merry Christmas is from Penned Elegance: Christmas stamps and dies from PTI.

All of the Potbellies dies are sold out -  but if you click on 'notify' over at PTI they will let you know when they are back in stock.
I also made some shaker cards using the Potbellies: Penguin die and clear bubbles large.  The stamp is from Around Christmas Time from Waltzingmouse (retired). On both cards, I cut an extra body and adhered it to the back at the head, scoring at the neck so it bends to stand up.
I'm linking my reindeer to:
inspired by the red and brown colors and the silver reindeer holding a place card in it's antlers!

Celebrate - with Donuts!

Today I have a card to share using a fun new set from Waltzingmouse called Dinky Donuts (yum, right!? who doesn't love donuts?!) There are 3 stamps for each size donut - the donut base, the frosting and sprinkles (hearts, jimmies, or flowers.)   I punched the centers out with a 1/4" hole punch and a 1/2" circle punch.
The bold sentiment is from WMS Say It Loud.
Two of the donuts are up on foam dots over the patterned paper and added some white sequins from WMS Shaker Mix Vanilla Frost.  I tied some Honeydew twine around the panel before layering it to the black panel and then to the card base.
I decided to make this a gift card and used the WMS Gift Card It die to do it.  The die cuts two half circles in just the right place to slip a gift card through and hold it securely!   The Coffee and Cake sentiment is from WMS Coffee Set, the Happy Birthday is from WMS Free Spirit Sentiments.
My design was inspired by the Time Out Challenge: to case Alice's card below
I'm also linking this to the Seize the Birthday challenge:

Stamps:  Dinky Donuts, Say It Loud, Coffee Set and Free Spirit Sentiments - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  Kraft, True Black, Text Style Turning a New Leaf - PTI

Waltzingmouse Dec Release - Preview Day #2

Welcome friends to Day 2 of the Dec Waltzingmouse Release Previews!  Today the Design Team is using a fun set Claire has designed called Vintage Post Cards.  I was inspired by the set to become Santa's helper and make some little post cards to send to my Grand Nephews and Nieces on Santa's behalf!
The Santa postage stamp in the corner and the post card design are stamps from Vintage Post Cards.  The sentiment stamps (in red and green) are from an older WMS set called Santa's Coming To Town.  I die cut the little postcards using the Gift Card It die - that just happen to fit this post card stamp perfectly!! (there are larger stamps in the Post Card set too) These little cards measure 3 3/8" x 2 1/8".
I stamped the ornament stamp from Santa's Coming to Town on the back of the postcard and then sponged all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Then I die cut envelopes using the Gift Card It Envelope die - stamping with more stamps from Santa's Coming Town (the Santa heads in this set match the Santa Head on the postage stamp in the Vintage Post Cards set -  Claire is SO clever coordinating her sets!)  I sponged all these edges too -  and slipped the post cards inside!  I think the kiddies will be excited and surprised to get these little postcards from Santa in the mail!
I'm entering my little Santa cards in the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge - Holiday

and the Try It on Tuesday Challenge - Christmas is Coming

I'll be back tomorrow at 2 pm with Day 3 of the Previews - hope you can stop by then!
Here are the links to the rest of the Design Team - where you will find lots more inspiration for this Vintage Post Card set!
You'll find all of the DT projects in one place at the WMS Team Talk Blog here.
