Inkspirational Challenge #339 - Mood Board Decorated Eggs

Hello everyone!  It's time for the newest Inkspirational Challenge #339 and, just in time for Easter and Spring - it's a lovely Mood Board of decorated eggs!

I was inspired by the red and blue eggs - using stamps from Nestie Eggs by Waltzingmouse (retired).

I stamped the large egg on red card with black ink and used blue and white POSCA pens to add those colors.  I stamped the smaller egg on Soft Stone card with Arctic Ink and added the pink with a POSCA pen. I die cut the eggs using Nested Eggs from Nestability.  I embossed the Soft Stone background using Feather Spiral Embossing Folder from Simon Says Stamp. All the die cuts are up on foam dots.

How do these decorated eggs inspire you?!  We'd love to see your inspired cards over at Inkspirational - where you'll find some lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT!

This challenge ends April 25.

The Giant Carrot

I've started making the Easter cards and found a few things in my Easter Box of stamps and dies that I haven't used since purchasing years ago!

I recently discovered a bunch of Honey Comb paper  in a drawer in my craft room that I purchased along with Honey Pop stamp sets from Inky Antics many years ago and have never used them!

Usually you would put the honeycomb carrot on the inside along the fold of the card so it 'pops open' when you open the card but I decided to put it on the front of my card (which means I have to hand the card to the receiver or mail it in a box or the Easter Bunny can put it in the Easter Basket!)

Inside I stamped:

Someone Carrots About You!

I'm sending my card to:

Inkspirational #336 Clean and Simple - Option: Sticker

Here's my DT card for the Inkspirational Challenge #336 -

Clean and Simple - with the option of using a sticker or ephemera.

I went with the option -  using a lovely rub-on bunny - from the Easter Collection from Taperlogy.  I die cut an egg out of watercolor paper, rubbed the bunny rub-on with a popsicle stick and stamped the sentiment beneath it.

I die cut a 2nd egg, scored it across the top and adhered it to the decorated egg so it stands up!

Showing scored edge on the back piece - adhering it to the front above the score.
I cut off a small strip straight across the bottom of the back piece and that will keep the 'egg' from rolling.  My egg is a small 2"x3" size!
Sentiment stamped inside.

So please join us and create a Clean and Simple card - maybe using a sticker/rub-on/or ephemera?

You'll find more inspiration from the rest of the DT as well as Mr. Linky over at Inkspirational!

The challenge ends on March 14th.

Inkspirational #312 - The White Bunny

Inkspirational Challenge #312 has just gone live over at the blog.  It's a Designers Choice!  I am  the designer this time and my choice is use White on White!

And here's my card - just in time for Easter which is SO early this year on 3/31/24!

I used only white with a touch of neutral black just for the eyes, nose and sentiment!  I recently purchased this wonderful layered bunny die from Magnolia Ink - a company in Germany.  I just love how this bunny looks with all his layers. I used a simple embossed frame background of white.  I popped the layers of the bunny up on foam for even more dimension, but it looks great without using foam too!

I hope you will join us in this fun White on White challenge!  You'll find inspiration from the rest of the DT and Mr Linky over at the Inkspirational blog.

This challenge ends 4/5/24

Colby's First Easter

A friend asked me to make a personalized card for her to send to her newest grandson, Colby, for his first Easter.

Here is the card I created - it's a small 3 1/4" square card.

The bunny is from Colorado Crafts and he's actually holding a snowball, so I added a sweet chick puffy sticker to cover it.  I also added a puffy mushroom and heart sticker.  I softly colored the image with COPICs.

Here's what I stamped on the inside along with another puffy chick sticker.

An Easter Bloom and Chick

(it looks yellow but the body IS white with a touch of tan on it's wings and feather on it's head) I added green enamel dots and stamped the Easter Frame from Rubbernecker

Group of Seven Cardmakers - February 2024 Technique - Masked Stenciling

Today I'm sharing my cards made for the Group of Seven Cardmakers February technique - Masked Stenciling.

The technique was used by our Guest Designer Pat (Colorful Craft Creations) and you will find her card as well as instructions and samples from the rest of the Group of Seven team over at the GO7 Blog.

Here are the cards I created using the Masked Stenciling Technique.

I die cut an egg out of white card stock and adhered it over a panel of light pink cardstock with double sided tape to hold it in place.  Then I laid a Pebbles stencil over the panel and taped the edges of the stencil down to hold it in place.   I inked over the stencil with a blender brush using a slightly darker pink than the card.

I removed the stencil and then the egg mask from the panel.   I stamped the sentiment and added a floral rub-on above the sentiment.

I added a tiny puffy chick sticker below the egg shape and edged the panel with Gold Pigment Ink.

Here are two more I made the same way but with Robins Egg cardstock, a darker blue ink and a Lavinia Charming stencil on the card on the left, Pebbles stencil on the right.

For my final card, I die cut a rabbit out of white card, laid it over a white panel, laid the Lavinia Flora stencil over the panel and inked through the stencil with two shades of green.
I die cut the bow out of chocolate card and covered it with Glossy accents.
I added two little die cut bunnies in Dark Chocolate card on the inside.

Here are photos of the 4 steps I used for all my cards below.  1) Die cut the rabbit (egg) out of white card and layer it over the white (blue or pink) panel, 2) lay the stencil over the panel with the mask on it, 3) ink through the stencil, 4) remove the stencil and the die cut mask.

The bonus of masking with a figure shape is that you get a partially stenciled mask die cut that you could use on a card!

NOTE:   in order to see the defined edges of the die cut egg and bunny mask - I used outline stencils that cover the whole panel.
Example: This stencil below did not work with the bunny mask!
(although it looks good on the bunny!)

We hope you will give this Masked Stenciling technique a try and that you'll link your card up over at the Group of Seven Cardmakers blog so we can see them!

The GO7 team have used many different kinds of masks for this technique.
