Talk to the Moon

I'm joining in again with the Lavinia World Challenges, which is always anything goes and you can win a gift certificate to Lavinia World.
I used one of the lovely Scene Scape panels Misty Morning for my background,  Talk to the Moon Sentiment Stamp and this beautiful Winterland Fairy die by Poppy stamps -  all sold at Lavinia World.

I die cut one fairy out of black card and the wings and two more fairies out of vellum paper.  I adhered the wings to the back of the black fairy and layered her under the moon with foam dots.  I adhered the vellum fairies in the tree with Multi Medium Matte.  I stamped the sentiment on a white strip an adhered it onto the panel under the fairies foot.

I'm not usually a fantasy kind of girl - but I'm loving all of these Lavinia World stamps, dies and papers, I think its the whimsy of them that appeals to me!

I'm linking to the following challenges:

Stamps:  Talk to the Moon - Lavinia Stamps
Paper:  White, True Black, Vellum - Papertrey Ink, Scene Scapes Misty Morning - Lavinia Stamps.
Ink:  True Black - PTI
Accessories:  Winterland Fairy Die - Poppy Stamps, foam dots, Multi Medium Matte.

July Guest I-Teamer for Words 2 Craft By

I was honored to be asked by Sybrina to be the Guest I-Teamer for the July/August Words 2 Craft By after being chosen the winner of the May/June challenge here.
This month - the inspiration words commemorate the July 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing.
"We came in peace for all mankind.
 (lunar plaque inscription).

Here is the card these words inspired me to make.
I stamped the moon using To The Moon stamp and die set from Altenew - using 3 different shades of grey for the multi-stamp moon on white card - Limestone, Silver Stone and Industrial Diamond all by Altenew and then sponged over it with Ranger Distress Fossilized Amber, more on the edges and less toward the center.
I sponged the background panel with Ranger Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Broken China, Blueprint Sketch.
I created the night cityscape using City Scene Stencil by Altenew - sponging it with Blueprint Sketch Ink, shifting the stencil over and down and sponging again with Black Soot.

I flicked water over the panel to make the splatter, glued on tiny star sequins and the Small Talk Sticker.  The moon is popped up on foam dots.

I was going to trim down the panel and adhere it to a black panel - but I didn't want to define the edges of the universe!  So I just adhered the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel to a white card base.

Please join us this month at Words 2 Craft By and show us what these words inspire you to create!  You'll find all the details of the challenge here.

Well Done, Graduate!

I needed a card for a friend's son who is graduating from High School next week.  I only have a few graduation stamps and was trying to think of a good design when I  remembered a free digital graduation cap pattern I found from The Toymaker and I made this!
You can print it in black like below - or in white and add your own school colors.
I printed the digital cap on white cardstock, cut it out and quickly assembled it. The top measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4".  The bottom of the box is 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" graduating in a bit to the top.
The cap opens so you can put a gift inside.  I rolled up some cash and tied it with a piece of wrinkled seam tape.
All the stamps I used are from two retired Waltzingmouse sets, Free Spirit Boy and Free Spirit Sentiments.

I added the tassel using a large brad through the top of the cap.  There is a paper tassel with the digi image pattern.

Morning Glory

Today I made a card using the colors for the Color Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers - 2 purples and a green.
I used lots of recently purchased items from Altenew -  the Layered Plaid Cover Die A, Build A Flower: Morning Glory and the Morning Glory die set.  I love when I use something new right away!  So often I put new purchases in a drawer and then forget I bought them!
I brushed the flowers and the leafy stems with Clear Glitter Wink of Stella which you can hopefully see in the photo above?!
