Inkspirational #319 Snowy Stencil

Today I am sharing my DT card for Inkspirational challenge #319

Optional Twist use Paste

I went with the option and used Snowfall Distress Grit Paste through my stencil.  My card base is a navy blue.

Here's a close up to show how thick and gritty the Snowfall  paste is - I had to leave it to dry overnight! I also splattered the panel with a white POSCA pen.
The tree arch stencil is from a set of stencils called Fairy Tale Christmas from a Make It Market Kit by PTI (retired).

So we hope you will get your stencils out (and maybe some paste!?!) and join us over at Inkspirational -  where you will also find some lovely stencil inspiration from the rest of the DT!

I'm also linking my card to:

Group of 7 Cardmakers - June 2024 - Monochromatic

This month the Group of Seven Cardmakers are playing with the technique of Monochromatic -  using only shades of the same color for our card designs.  It can be stenciling, stamping, layered die cuts - but everything has to be in shades of the same color - neutrals can be used as well but should not be the main color.

For my 1st card I used two shades of blue ink on the stenciled background and the die cut sentiment.

The stencil is Modern Mosaic (3 stencils that layer over each other) by Taylored Expressions.  The Sentiment stamp and die is from Written in Ribbons by The Greetery.  The frame die is from Rubbernecker.  The Happy is up on foam dots.  I used two shades of blue ink - Iceberg and Persian Blue and added 3 blue enamel dots, all from Altenew.

For my second monochromatic card, I used die cut flowers out of three shades of purple card stock.

I added Gold Liquid Pearls to the flower centers, I embossed the purple card base with Feather Spiral embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp and added 3 purple enamel dots on the background.

So, please check out the other talented GO7 designers monochromatic creations over at the blog.

We'd also love to see what colors you use to make a monochromatic design - you can link up your card over at the GO7 blog!

Seize the Birthday - Make a Wish Upon Your Birthday Star

Here is my second  challenge card as a Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday.

Today the challenge is: Add a Star

And here is my card:
An Astrological Birthday Chart!

I used a retired stamp set from PTI called Star Gazer Additions.  The background is DP.  I added some tiny gold Star Confetti from Honey Bee around the stamped stars and brushed over the stamped stars and the lines on the map with Clear Glitter Wink of Stella that doesn't show up in the photo but adds shimmer IRL!

So we hope you will join us over at Seize the Birthday - you can add a star to your design or just make it birthday!  Check out the lovely inspiration from the ever so talented Design Team here.

I do Like to be Beside the Seaside

Today I made a card for the Time Out Challenges

I was inspired by the light house and the ocean!

The DP inside the circle is from Charlie and Paulchen (a company in Germany), the light house is from Guiding Lights from Papertrey Ink (retired) and the sentiment is from Crafty Individuals (no name for this particular set).  I added blue enamel dots and a heart.  The white card is Hammered white that I purchased on Amazon.

I love this sentiment:  "I do like to be beside the seaside, I do like to be beside the sea."

Time to Hit the Beach

Today I'm joining in with the Just Us Girls Challenge #732
ends 6/26
I was inspired by the blocks of images, the pink and blue colors and the beachy feel.

I die cut the base with the Postage Collage Die and used the Postage Collage Coloring Stencil to color inside the sections - both from Waffle Flower.  The crab, seahorse,  air bubbles, fish and starfish are rub-ons from the Wild Life Set from Taperlogy.  The sentiment and palm trees are stamps from My Island a retired set from Waltzingmouse.  I added 3 pink enamel dots to the sentiment.

Snow Globe Snowman in Pink

Today I'm joining in on  The Color Hues Challenge #89

And here's my card - oddly enough, a Christmas card, even though we just had 3 days of 90 degree weather!  But I do need to get those Christmas cards done!

The snowman and flower star are vellum stickers from Taperlogy - with the sage holly and mitten, and pink scarf, hat and star flower.   I embossed the background using a newly purchased embossing folder Sprinkle Snow Globe from Simon Says Stamp.  The stickers are up on foam dots.

Inkspirational #318 Magical Inspiration

Here is my DT card for Inkspirational Challenge #318.  Today the challenge is a Mood Board

Adapted from: https://picsandcheesecake.blogspot.com/2014/05/dt-lifepaperscrapbook-may-mood-board.html

I was inspired by the yellow flower on the bokeh background, all of the colors, the banner flags and  the circles!
I used a Circles Stencil from Lavinia and White Pigment ink to create the Bokeh background on the  panel of Mint Julep. I die cut the panel with A2 Arches from the Greetery.  I stamped the Lavinia Dandelion and sponged over the flower with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink.  Then I added white Nuvo drops. I die cut the banner and placed it over the panel on foam dots.  The sentiment is from the Magic and Wonder set from PaperArtsy.  I layered the arch panel over a piece of Distressed Dots DP.

We hope you will be inspired by the challenge Mood Board and will link up your card over at Inkspirational!

You have through June 28th to link up!

A Stenciled Birthday In the Woods

Today I'm thrilled to begin my time as Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday.  How excited I was when I received an e-mail from Nancy asking me if I'd be interested??  Ummm, YES! And what a thrill to be working with this wonderfully creative team for June and July!

This is today's challenge.

So Double Stenciling is a special technique where you take a card panel and  lay one stencil over another stencil and ink through both stencils.  Then you lift up the top stencil and ink through the bottom stencil with another color.  Usually a lighter color first and a darker color second - and you have to think about how the colors will mix so not to make mud.

SO -  here's my card followed by a few creation step photos -
if you are a visual learner like me, and so I remember how I made this!

I have to say, I tried a number of stencils and ink color combinations before coming up with something I really liked.

and here's the inside to prove it is a birthday card - a nice masculine design for the guys in our lives - or for anyone who loves the outdoors!

How I made it:
Taped a white panel onto my work surface.  Placed the Birch tree stencil over the card panel, taping the stencil along the top.   Placed the Moc Croc Stencil over the Birch Tree Stencil, taping it along the top.  Sponged over all these layers with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink.
It looks pretty crazy like this - hard to tell what it's going to look like, right?
Lifted up the Moc Croc Stencil and sponged through Birch Tree Stencil with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.
This stencil is a Slim Line so it's longer than my card panel.
Lift off that stencil and your design is done!   Pretty magical right?!
The Birch Tree stencil came with a 2nd stencil to mark the brown bits on the birch and I wanted those on there - so I just matched up that stencil over the trees and sponged with a brown ink.
(But that's extra, not part of Double Stenciling!)

I stamped the sentiment and adhered it over the panel with foam dots.

So, we invite you to join in and add another card to your birthday stash!  You can use the topping of Double Stenciling or just make it birthday!  You'll find the challenge here.
