Ho Ho Ho - Pink Santa

I know my card is made using unexpected colors for Christmas (?!)  -  but I made it for the Splitcoaststampers Tuesday Color Challenge that included the option of making it Christmas in July.

I used a recently purchased Make a Wish Arch Labels die set from Spellbinders for all the framing.  The Santa is a  vellum die cut from Taperlogy, attached to the white panel with glue dots.  The sentiment is a printed and die cut  Subsentiments Christmas set by Waffle Flower and the snowflakes are from Simon Says Stamp.

To make the panel into a folded card -  I die cut the largest frame again, out of white card stock, scored a horizontal line about 2" down from the top and adhered it to the top of the front panel so the card stands up.

I'm linking my card to:

Group Of Seven Cardmakers - July 2024 Kaleidoscope Technique

For July, we - the Group of Seven Cardmakers - are playing with the Kaleidoscope Technique.

You will find instructions for this technique over at the Group of 7 blog, as well as my own step by step below.

I made this lobster card for my wonderful daughter-in-laws birthday - which is in December - but she LOVES lobster and always gets it when they visit us in MA in the summer, as the lobster in MD, where they live, isn't as good - and her name is Sunny -  so I created this very personalized card for her.

I'm taking great creative license here in saying my strips are like the bottom of the ocean or maybe its a map from MD to MA??!

I'll show you some photos of how I created my cards.

I gold embossed a Roses All Over background stamp from MFT  and a Crackle Stamp from Impression Obsession onto a panel of water color paper.

I brushed water over the whole panel.  Then I brushed on random patches of watercolors.

I dried the panels with my heat tool and cut the panels into 1/2" x 4 1/4" strips.

This is how I finished the Anniversary Card

I embossed a frame (Simple Frame 3D - Altenew) onto a panel of Hammered White Paper.  I put some Rub 'N Buff Gold Leaf on my finger and rubbed it along the embossed frame so it matched the gold embossing on the strips.

I cut the strips to fit inside the frame and glued them  in random order onto the panel.
I added a printed sentiment along the base of the frame - like it was the title of this modern art painting!

I made this an Anniversary card for a friends' Son and Daughter-in-law so I added their names to the die cut hearts.

We hope you will give this technique a try and link up over at The Group of Seven so we can all see your creation!

Inkspirational #321 - Woodland

Here is my DT card for Inkspirational #321 challenge -  Woodland.

Woodland made me think of snowy Christmas in the woods!

I die cut the dome out of a  lovely piece of DP from Charlie and Paulchen showing these children enjoying the snowy woodlands.  I die cut the snow globe base out of a piece of woodgrain DP and the little sliver between the globe and base is die cut out of Brushed Silver.

I also die cut the globe out of clear acetate and layered it over the image with little glue dots in the bottom corners and top center (that do show a bit!).   I added three little 'snowflakes' over the acetate.

The snow globe is layered over the background DP with foam dots.  The sentiment is a Small Talk Sticker.

How does the word Woodland inspire you?   Please show us by linking your creation up over at Inkspirational!  You have until 8/9!

Seize the Birthday - Tic Tac Toe

Today is my last day as Surprise Party Guest over at Seize the Birthday.  I have so enjoyed participating in the June and July challenges and thank Nanc' and the team again for having me!

The challenge for the next two weeks is Tic Tac Toe!

I chose the top horizontal line -  stripes, one layer and stencil.
Here's the inside of my card to show it is for a birthday - for a sea-loving guy (or gal!)

I used the double stenciling technique for my background that was the Seize the Birthday challenge on June 17th.  If you're interested to see how I double stenciled my background, please see this blog post.

So pick a row of Tic Tac Toe - and join us over at Seize the Birthday!

Guest DT for Try it on Tuesday 7/23/24 In the Garden

I'm excited to share that today I'm the Guest DT over at Try it on Tuesday after being chosen in the Top Five for their Small Things challenge in June.

Today the challenge is "In the Garden".  You can do any kind of project - as long as it has to do with a garden.

I recently purchased some new stamps from Claire Brennan Design and her Mush Love set fits the theme perfectly!  I'm always excited when I use something new right away!

(Claire Brennan was the owner/designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps.  And I'm happy to say she has started designing stamps and stencils again as Claire Brennan Design!)

I stamped the image and sentiment on a panel of white card and colored the images with Copics.  Then I laid my Milky Way Stencil from A Colorful Life Design over the panel and sponged around the image with Speckled Egg Distress Ink where the sky would be and with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink where the ground would be!  I added 3 black Tuxedo hearts around the image and white Nuvo Drops to the mushroom cap.

So please join in with us over at Try It On Tuesday "In the Garden" theme - you'll find lots of inspiration from the talented Design Team!

And a big thank you to the Design Team for letting me 'play' with you for this challenge!
