A Sweet Gingerbread Girl at the Beach!
I just love the gingerbread stamp sets by Waltzingmouse Stamps and I hate to wait to use them just at Christmas time - so I'm always trying to think of ways to use them for other times during the year.
Today we have the little gingerbread girl at the beach working on her tan! The cute outfit Claire designed for the Gingerbread girl looks like a little bathing suit to me and I made a beach blanket out of her bed blanket stamp! I pounced Chai Tea Die ink by Papertrey over the little girl as well as the sun to soften the bright yellow. The sun is made with one of the gingerbread faces in the set.
Everything is popped up on dimensionals. The wavy beach stamp in the background is from CTMH and you can just barely see the cloudy sky made with my hand made cloud template.
Well - now I'm off to eat supper - thanks so much for coming by today - let me know what you think of my Summer Gingerbread Girl !!!???

Sometimes Prayer is the Only Gift We Can Give
I made this little book of Bible Verses to give to an Interim Assistant Pastor who is leaving our church this Sunday. During his year with us he ran a weekly Bible Study group that I particpated in. I wanted to give him something to remind him of our spiritual time together - so I found verses about prayer as well as discerning God's path for us. He is semi retiring and looking for a part time pastor position in VA where his family is from so he really doesn't know what will happen next for him and his wife.
And this is a picture of our church (that my father drew for the church many years ago so it's really special to me) that I put on the last page so Fr. Charles will remember his time with us whenever he takes out this little book.
I cut out the pages from cardboard with the Top Note die from Stampin Up - then cut out pieces of designer paper with the same die and attached it to all of the cardboard pages - front and back. The verses are computer generated and printed onto Vintage Cream. I cut them out and attached them over the designer paper. I punched holes in the top left corner of each page with my Crop a Dile and put a silver chain through the holes. You could add flowers or other accessories to each page as well as the cover - but I wanted the verses to be the focus so I left it all plain. I think the designer paper has enough color and design on it to make it nice to look at. The cover stamp is by The Stamp Pad Co and I used Labels One Nestabilities to frame it.

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop - A Quilted Summer
I wanted to share with you a little bit of how I put these together. First I made a full sheet of 'quilt' using the Guide Lines paper and Guide Lines Two stamp set and many different colors of Papertrey Ink.! I stamped each design 14 times in the same color randomly around the blocks until the page was filled.
Then I cut them up into rectangles so they were like little quilts. I got 4 out of the sheet so I made 4 cards! I wanted them to be a little antique looking so I used the Camomile tea dye ink on the edges and then daubed it all over each "quilt". Here you can hopefully see them plain, edged, and daubed all over. I also cut around the edges with deckled edge scissors.
Here is a close up of each card. I ran each 'quilt' through my crimper and I used a corner rounder punch on the Bitty Dots designer paper behind each quilt. I pierced around the edges of the Rustic Cream card stock. I went over the grid lines with a light gray Copic to give each square a little definition. The sentiments are from Quilter's Sampler and Quilter's Sampler Sentiments.
These are all very Mish Wooderson-esque dont you think??? Thanks for stopping by today!

My DH has deserted me and gone up to his sister's cottage in NH for a few days to help her with some renovations in her kitchen and bathroom - so I'm going to be here all alone with my kitties and probably have to stamp the whole time - don't you feel sorry for me!?!!? (That's why it's 2 am and I'm still up and posting a card!!)
Have a great weekend everyone - we just may float away here in rainy New England - but boy - is the grass really GREEN!

A Few Drinks, A Few Laughs & My Stamping Assistant
The sketch was a Doubledog Dare Challenge from Beverly (beestamper) last week. You can check out the DDC Challenge Forum here we'd love to have you play along - just put DDC in the keyword when you load your card on Split Coast
I wanted to share with you this picture of my stamping assistant - Scout. Here she is adjusting the location of the Diva Circle on today's card - isn't she doing a swell job?!?
And here she is in one of her favorite resting spots - on top of the piles of papers that I print off of blogs with ideas or challenges that I want to do. I have a nice little blanket on top of one of my rolling drawer cabinets where she sits most of the time. This table area is supposed to be empty clean space and periodically I organize and put all the papers in appropriate places - but then somehow it just piles up once again! And you can see about half of my Papertrey Ink stamp sets in the CD racks here as well as some The Greeting Farm and Magnolias that I store in CD cases. The plastic drawers have wooden stamps by topic, one has my embossing supplies, another all my adhesives, and another my clear acrylic blocks.
Scout's sister, Boo, comes in now and then and sits on the windowsill just to be social - but she's not into the stamping the way Scout is! Scout will actually cry when I am downstairs asking me to "come on up to the stamping room now mum!!!" (as if I need to be asked?! LOL!)
and - Just a reminder! if you want to go to the Stamp New England Workshop in Farmingon, CT on July 10th & 11th - you need to sign up by Tues 6/23 so hop on over and check it out today!!

A Beautiful Mojo & Stamp New England CT deadline!
What I time I had getting this card loaded - I took the picture and then when I went to download it onto my computer - the camera couldn't read the disk (this has happened several times over the last few weeks but it always read it again after fiddling with it a bit). But today - no go. Luckily, my DH just bought a new camera for himself - so I hastily loaded the software for it onto my computer - figured out how to take a picture with the camera - and got it loaded! phew - sometimes I just hate technology!! I don't want to have to learn how to use it - I just want it to do what I want it to do automatically - are you with me on this?!?!?
Just a reminder! if you want to go to the Stamp New England Workshop in Farmingon, CT on July 10th & 11th - you need to sign up by Tues 6/23 so hop on over and check it out today!! My Buddy
Quick note: I'm so excited! just found out I got honorable mention for my Papertrey Star Box seen in the post below - check it out on Nichole's blog!!!
Ok, back to earth now ----- This is a two-fer card today - it covers two challenges - the Split Coast CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge - and the Doubledog Dare Challenge I do with some SCS friends (see my side bar for the team names!)
For the CAS challenge we had a sketch to follow . I made my front panel larger than the sketch but used the same number of layers. I stamped my Cornish Heritage Farms toy soldier right on the Cosmo Cricket designer paper. I stamped the sentiment from The Greeting Farm (it's on sale check it out!) on a piece of silver card stock and punched it with the Stampin Up Key Tag punch - looks just like a dog tag doesn't it!! The chain is from Michaels.
Anne (jdmommy) issued the Doubledog Dare challenge this week to make a kids card. I know my son always loved to play 'Army' when he was little - and when he grew up he signed up to serve! (thanks Josh!) I think this would be a fun birthday card for a young soldier! You are welcome to join in on the DDC challenges - just use the keyword DDC when you upload your card on Splite Coast - Beverly even created a Doubledog Dare challenge thread in the forums for us. You can see all the DDC cards here.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Four Papertrey Templates
ETA: I got honorable mention for my Star box seen below - check it out on Nicole's blog !!!! whoo hooo!!!!
I stamped the flower on the text DP and colored it a little with some copics. I added a punched circle and gem to the middle. The sentiment is cut with a petite oval nestability.
My third project (use of stars, summer theme, template) uses Lauren's Captured Card Case template. But I used it for cookies instead of cards! This project uses the PTI stamps "Let Freedom Ring" and "Star Prints"
We have a store called 5 Below in our town - which is like a dollar store only everything is $5 or less - where I found a big bucket of 12 pieces of sidewalk chalk for $2.00 (so I can make 4 of these little holders!) I used the stamp set "Pond Life' for the frog and cute Hippity Hop sentiment (get it? like hop scotch?!) The card stocks are Lemon Tart, Ocean Tides and white - all Papertrey as is the designer paper - TextStyle Polka Dot Parade. The box is wrapped in a piece of acetate as per the template pattern - but you can also make this a closed box using card stock and the base can be an open basket instead of a box with holes on the top. (very versatile huh!?)
I made the hanging tag with oval Nestabilities, a Making Memories square eyelet and a silver chain (Tandy Leather - Michaels). The words are stamped using the PTI Fresh Alphabet set using Ripe Avacodo and Ocean Tides inks. I sponged the edge with avocado.

My card today is 5"x5" and since the base is black - I attached a panel of Naturals Ivory punched with the Stampin Up Top Note Die on the inside so someone could write a message there - you can see a peek of it on the photo.
Well - must run off to do another edging/mulching project in the back yard! It's a beautiful day here - going up to the mid 70's. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - and thank's so much for stopping by!

I've been wanting to try these flowers for a long time - thanks Cindy for the challenge today!

He Tends his Flock like a Shepherd
I used today's sketch on Split Coast for my page taking several liberties with it. I turned it on it's side, made it a 6x6 square, and used the fence to represent the center panel but didn't continue it up to the top of the card. That's really taking some creative license!
Just a reminder to check out my right side bar concerning the Stamp New England weekend in Connecticut July 10th and 11th. They have all 5 teachers chosen now - me being one of them (woo hoo!!) so if you are anywhere near Farmington CT - sign up now - it's going to fill fast. And the Inn we'll be staying at looks absolutely lovely! We had a total blast at the last one in NH! Let me know if you're going to be there!
