Inkspirational #374 Word Prompt - Garden

Today there's a new challenge up over at Inkspirational Challenge.  #374 Word Prompt - Garden

So I literally went out to my garden, picked some pansies and a few leaves from other plants to press for this card!

I laid the blossoms and leaves, face side down onto a panel of water color paper.  I folded a piece of computer paper in half and inserted the panel inside (to absorb moisture) and then ran it through my Big Shot.  I took the panel out, removed it from the folded computer paper, and scraped off the bits of pansies and leaves that were left on the card stock  - and a print was left.   I added orange gems, stamped the sentiment and ran along the edge of the panel with a gold Sharpie pen.

Every time you press a panel it comes out different - depending on the blooms and the leaves used (some plant leaves don't leave any green so it's trial and error!)

The wetness of the fresh blooms pressed against the paper can make the cardstock damp and curl a bit. I laid the panels out overnight to dry and then laid heavy books on top of them to help flatten them.

Here are several more cards I made using geranium and pansy petals.  On many of these I didn't use any leaves.  I used plain white card stock on a couple of them.

So please join us and show us how "Garden" inspires you!  You'll find some lovely inspiration from the rest of the team as well as Mr. Linky over at Inkspirational!

This challenge ends on Aug 28th

Llama Tell You - Make A Wish

A friend recently asked if I could make special cards for two of her granddaughters who both have birthdays in May.  I love to personalize the cards I make so I asked her their names, their ages and what kind of things do they like?
So Ruby is turning 8, she loves pink and llamas.  Lila is turning 11 and she likes ballet.

I knew the wonderful Center Picture Window Card Die and Card Add On Dies from Lawn Fawn would be perfect to use for these special cards.

This small 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" card looks very simple when it's closed.........
but it's quite spectacular when it is opened!
The Trees and bird die cuts are from the Add On set as well as the front die cut DP panel and smaller side panels used inside (with the stitched edges).
The clouds are adhered to thin acetate strips and so look like they are floating in the sky.
The sentiment and heart on the front and the llama inside are from the Llama Tell You stamp and die sets from Lawn Fawn.
Lawn Fawn has a great YouTube video on how to put the window card together.  It's easy peasy once you've seen it done.
And here's the card for Lila.
You'll find the supplies used for this card listed at the end of my post.
This shows how the pieces are attached and layered.
Below you can see the clear acetate strips holding up two of the hearts, seemingly floating in the air!
Here's the back - lots of space for you to write a message to the receiver.
