Just a reminder that there is still time to link up your card to the August CAS Christmas Card Challenge!
Trina is our hostess and she wants us to use PINE.
I used a fir birch stencil gifted to me by a friend and inked it in Distress Oxide Peeled Paint over a panel of Stormy Sea card. I quickly removed the stencil and shook white embossing powder over the inked stenciling. DOX inks are more juicy and so will hold the embossing powder if you don't wait too long to put it on.
Then I heat embossed. The ink didn't catch the powder completely but I like the bits of green showing through the image.
I cut the panel down, framed it in green card and layered it to a Stormy Sea card. I layered the stamped and die cut sentiment over the panel with foam dots.
So let's see your CAS Christmas designs inspired by PINE! The link is open through 8/27.
You know you need to get your Christmas cards done!
You'll find inspiration and the link to add your card over at the CAS Christmas Card blog!

This is so cool. I love the bit of green showing through too. A happy accident that created the most beautiful and artistic image, Julia! xx
I love the way the glitter took hold on some of the pine needles but left some without! A true icy look! Fantastic card, Julia!
Soooooooo pretty Julia and I love your happy accident too with the green showing through the white...totally makes it look like a snowy pine branch! Love the colors of your cardstock too...makes this card so elegant looking! Had to chuckle a bit on the comment you left me as I bet our stamp collections are very similar...you know what they say about great minds thinking alike!! Haha!! Hugs. :0)
Beautiful Julia, love the mix of green and white on your pine sprig and cone, also love your base colour ♥
I like how soft and wispy this looks! Fabulous card, Julia!
Beautiful birch pine branches, Julia! I was wondering how you white heat-embossed them, leaving some green. And now I know the wonderful technique! :-)
I love a bit of green showing through the image here and there. The color of the card base and the front panel is awesome, especially pairing with Peeled Paint!
Hideko xx
Such a wonderful unique card! Love the colours. It would make a fabulous masculine card.
The tone-on-tone is striking. Beautiful stencilling. I like the uneven embossing too… it gives it dimension, texture and a cool organic look.
So beautiful - just love your soft stenciling, Julia!!
