Make It Monday #349: Negative Die Cut Background

I don't think I have ever participated in the Make It Monday PTI challenges (it's at least been a LONG time!).  I usually just do the monthly Blog Hop -  but today's Negative Die Cut Background intrigued me!   Mostly because Ashley suggested several dies that would work for this and one of them was a heart from the Shakers and Sprinkles Make It Market Kit - which I have and have not used much!

I ended up making two different designs using most of the same materials for both.
I made this card first using the DP from the Shakers Market Kit as well as the heart dies.  The stamp is from Perfect Match.  I die cut the confetti hearts right out of the DP and layered the stitched heart over it with foam dots.  The sentiment is up on foam dots as well as the DP panel.
For my second card, I used another piece from the Shakers and Sprinkles Patterned Paper Collection, cutting the confetti hearts die from the center of the heart on the paper, layering a scalloped heart die cut out of clear acetate around the heart shape.   I just used tiny spots of Tombow Glue to adhere the acetate to the paper.   This sentiment is also from Perfect Match.  Both the DP panel and sentiment strip are popped up on foam dots.
You'll find the Make it Monday PTI blog post here.

  2. Both of these are so cool Julia! I have that shakers and sprinkles kit too and don't think I've ever used any of the DSP that came with the kit for fear of using it up...and now how many years later it's still sitting there unused...good grief!! But anyway, both your cards are wonderful!! :0)

  12. Julia, two very festive cards and congrats on your MIM win! I’ve been very negligent in perusing blogs and commenting. Not sure why but my interest is lacking.
