Spritzed Marker Sympathy

I have seen this image, Hidden Lane by Penny Black, used on several blogs and fell in love with it  - so I found it on line and bought it!
Instead of just inking it today -  I colored the trees, fence and walkway on the stamp with several different colors of  Ranger Distress Markers, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto Arches Watercolor paper.
You get varying amounts of image clarity depending on how much water you spritz on the stamp and if you spritz the paper with water before stamping.  I used quite a bit of water on this stamping so the image is really blurry.
I think it's a good look for a sympathy card.
This is already in the mail - on it's way to a friend at church who recently lost her father.

I'm linking my card to:
I used stamps, markers and sequins
Stamps:  Hidden Lane - Penny Black,  Beyond Basic Borders - PTI.
Paper:  Arches Watercolor Paper, Rustic Cream and Simply Chartreuse - PTI
Ink:  Archival Jet Black.
Accessories:  Ranger Distress Markers -  Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain,  Mini Mister - Ranger, Lucky Blend Sequins - Avery Elle.

  4. You're right, this lovely card has such a peaceful feel. Perfect for a sympathy card. I love the way you inked different areas of the stamp. It's always sad when a sympathy card is needed, but your beautiful card will bring comfort to the family at a time when they need it most.
    Hugs,
    Nancy

  5. I went to have a look at the original stamp and it is beautiful, but I love how you changed it up and created this wonderful 'misty' scene. It is always a shame to have to create a sympathy card but this one is beautiful. Hugs, Anne xx

  6. Like you Julia, I saw the stamp , loved it but haven't been lucky enough as yet to get hold of it here in the UK . How you have used it is inspirational and I love the whole ethereal feel the technique you've used has given, especially for the type of card you have made .
Thanks for sharing and inspiring and reminding me of a stamp I Love.
