Mixed Media Card Challenge - Dec 2015 - Celebration

It's December 1st and time for the last of 2015 Mixed Media Card Challenge!
This months Challenge theme is Celebration - optional element: Vellum
I went with the celebration theme but did not opt to use vellum.  To create my card - I first stamped one of the women, from the Silhouetted Women stamp set by Dina Wakley, onto a panel of kraft card.
I created a skirt on the woman using Paperartsy Opaque Haystack and Opaque Snow Flake acrylic paints.  I used the same paints for the brushstrokes on the background.  The black streaks were created with a black Stabilo pencil that I rubbed over with a wet finger to blur.
I die cut the Birthday out of black card and stamped the HAPPY above it on the panel.  They are from the Birthday Cheer die and stamp sets from PTI.  I added 3 Winter Blend sequins from Avery Elle.  I sponged around the edges of the kraft panel with Ranger Distress Ground Espresso and adhered it to a slightly larger panel of Harvest Gold card and finally to the white card base.
We hope you will join us this month for the Celebration Theme challenge over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge!  You will find some terrific inspiration from the talented Design Team as well as the challenge instructions and link,  here at the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog.
