I pulled out a lot of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology product today for my creation. I, sadly, lost my dad in 1981 when he was just 66 so I usually don't make Father's Day cards as I have no one to send them to - but I found several challenges I wanted to participate in with the dad/masculine theme - so here it is - a Father's Day card!
The clock paper is from Idea-ology Paper Stash Collage. The vintage 'dad' is a sticker from Salvage Stickers/French Industrial. I attached Game Spinners to one of the clock faces with a brad. I added a Big Chat sticker to the 'father' Flash Card and then drew a rough line around it using a black Stabilo pencil that I smudged with my finger. I did the same thing around the whole card panel.
I added two Chit Chat Stickers to the bottom right corner - and again drew around them with my Stabilo pencil and smudged it with my finger.
I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
Mixed Media Card Challenge - Collage
Anything but Cute - Make it Masculine
Friday Mashup - Dad or color challenge
Try it on Tuesday - Watches/Clocks
Happy Sunday everyone! I'll be back tonight as I'm joining the Waltzingmouse Pajama Party that starts at 6:50 pm EST.
What a brilliant Father's Day card Julia. Masculine and vintage. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful masculine card Julia and it's wonderful way to honour your Father and remember him. I love the clock hands you added at the top and your gentleman is very distinguished.

Hi Julia. Every detail is so well thought out. Adding the game spinners gives the illusion the clocks are real as does your gentleman sticker, he looks 3D. Love the way you've added the outlining with that bit of smudge, so clever and perfect for your design. xx
ReplyDeleteSo so COOL!!
ReplyDeleteI love your awesome masculine card, Julia! Beautiful design with those game spinners added on top of the clock and your cool gentleman sticker! Fabulous card and a perfect way to remember your father!

Wonderful card Julia, perfectly vintage and what a lovely sentiment. I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad.
ReplyDeleteThis came out great, what a terrific card for Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteI lost my dad almost 5 years ago when he was 62 so I know what you mean about making Father's Day cards. It's actually only been within the last 2 yrs or so that I've been able to bring myself to make them.
Thanks for joining us at The Friday Mashup!
