It's April 1st - and we're not fooling (!) it's time for the April Mixed Media Card Challenge! Sheri's challenge for us this month is Flowers - with the option of baskets.
I used a sweet little flower on my card - but used a pot instead of a basket. I made the background panel by dropping some Rubbing Alcohol and Archival Reinkers (Cornflower blue, Orange Blossom, Leaf Green) onto my craft mat and dragging the panel of Specialty Stamping Paper through it - drying and moving the dripping ink with my heat gun until I was happy with the look. I stamped the border from All Occasion Art on all four sides and the sentiment from the same set along the bottom.
I adhered a piece of Terminology Tissue Wrap to a piece of Art Parts Clearly for Art Modeling film using Glue N Seal, let it dry then stamped my little plant/flower from All Occasioin Art set twice onto the tissue side. I colored the leaves and flower with Wendy Vecchi Archival inks in Buttercup, Leaf Green and Fern Green. I cut out the full stamping and then just part of the leaves from the second stamping. The modeling film can be shaped by heating it with a heat tool. I embossed a Mat Minis Flower Pot using Tree Branch Ink and Tree Branch embossing powder. I adhered the full flower piece to the top of the pot base, then layered the pot rim over it. I then layered the smaller piece of leaves over the rim with foam tape to give it all nice dimension. I stamped the Flourish from the Say It With Art set and adhered the pot over it with foam dots. Then I partially stenciled Add a Stencil using Cornflower Blue ink on the right side. To finish it off I added 3 green sequins to the card.
I'm linking this card to the Seize the Birthday Challenge - Anything Goes.
