This weekend my niece had a joint birthday party for her son Landon (4 yrs) and daughter Mila (2 yrs) as their b'days are in Sept and Aug respectively. So, of course, Great Aunt Julia must make special cards for them - and I usually try to incorporate a photo of them on the cards and also get their name on there too!
So here are the cards I made this year. First, for Landon - the party theme was Batman so I googled it and found this cool bat image to print, cut out and include on his card.
Both of my nieces take lots of pictures of their kids and load them onto Snapfish - so I have access to hundreds of photos to use. I love this photo of Landon with his sweet little grin and glance to the side - it was actually taken on his actual birthday when the family went to the zoo to celebrate. I made the sentiment on my Brother Label Maker. I cut the photo and the white panel with a Stitched Edge Rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs.
For Mila's card - I had this sweet little photo of her at the beach - where her family went on her actual birthday in August. She has a fistful of sand in her right hand!
I added banners (die from Lil' Inker Designs) in colors taken from the photo. The 'beautiful' and 'birthday' sentiments are from Hello Happy Thanks, the 'girl' is from Half Pint Heroines and the 'happy' is from Say it Loud - all from Waltzingmouse.
I'm entering Mila's card into the Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge - Birthday theme
They are having their one year celebration of the challenge - and there's a WMS prize to be won so be sure to check it out - you do need to use at least one Waltzingmouse stamp on your project.
I'm also entering it in the Seize the Birthday Challenge.
