Welcome to a new year of Fusion Challenges with the brand new Design Team! Here is the first Fusion challenge for 2014!

I sometimes struggle with colors I'm told to use (!) for example in the picture above - I very rarely use orange but I have set myself the goal to really try and somehow combine both the photo and the sketch for each challenge. SO I made it this week! We'll see how far I can go with this!! But - the fun of this challenge is that it's perfectly fine to do one or the other. No guilt involved - just self imposed!!
I found this great patterned paper in my stash that sort of matches one of the pillows in the photo. I used a stitched mat die to mimic the tufted headboard. I scored 3 lines across the patterned paper above the sentiment for the sketch (just barely visible in the photo!). I used grey, orange, brown and white from the photo.
Here are links to the rest of the team - lets go see if they did the sketch, photo or both! And we hope you're inspired to join in as well!

LOL Julia...I thought I should use both the sketch and the photo this time too! Considering you rarely use orange, you sure knew how to work with it! Love the patterned paper you used for your circles and all the scoring you did. No surprise here...your card is one of my very favorites!

ReplyDeletePerfect card! You captured both the photo inspiration and the sketch with brilliant creative flair! :)
ReplyDeletePretty card! Love the houndstooth & star circles! I too struggle with color challenges (though I often feel color-challenged all on my own - you'd think I'd like having someone take out the guess work). You did awesome with this card!
