Oh my goodness - what a fun template the Design Team has to show you today for the Creations by AR July Release. Adela has created a wonderful GOLF CART - Fore the Golfer - perfect for all your friends and family that love to get out on the green!! All of Adela's templates come in 3 formats - PDF to print and cut out, SVG and DXF to use with cutting machines like Silhouette Cameo.
I like to check out Pinterest for ideas on style, color and design and here's what I found.
This one that inspired me for theme design.
and this one that inspired me for colors:
And here's how I interpreted the inspiration into my "Fore the Golfer" Template Golf Cart!
I used pictures from my two nieces weddings. Here's the cart from the back with a picture of my niece Christie and her husband Nate.
Side view:
I adhered a fringe to the edge of the roof panel (don't you love it!!??!) - trimming the fringe as it is twice as long as shown here! (all I can hear in my head is that old song from the musical Oklahoma "surrey with the fringe on top"
Instead of a golf ball in the 'seat' I inserted 2 pictures of my niece Katie and her husband Greg - facing out on both sides. I just curled each picture a bit and slipped them into the cut out circle on the top of the seat..
Here's a close up of the wired clay flowers (Michaels wedding section) that I placed in the holes in the 'trunk' where you could also put golf tees. I knotted a piece of netting and inserted it behind the flowers. Both sentiments are die cut with rectangle Nestabilities and mounted on the cart with foam tape.
Adela's template uses a white circle for the steering wheel - but I had a metal sprocket gear from Tim Holtz that looks like a steering wheel that I thought would look fun! I adhered a piece of a thin craft stick under the column that holds the wheel to support the extra weight of the metal. I adhered the wheel with a thick glue dot to the template piece.
And here's a funny story - Kent and I went to a wedding on Cape Cod a couple of weekends ago (just after I had made my wedding golf cart) and look what they had there!?! The wedding was held outside on a farm and they had this golf cart available for people that might need rides around the area!! So, of course, I just had to snap this picture!!
And just in case you are interested in seeing the full pictures of the ones I cut up of my beautiful nieces for this project- here they are - Christie and Nate on their wedding day (with sister Katie looking on)
and here's Katie and Greg on their wedding day.
So - one more look at my wedding golf cart - Isn't this just the cutest thing??!! It measures about 5.25" x 4" x 2 1/2". What kind of golf cart would you make??
I'm off to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team linked below - want to come too? Leave comments along the way and you could win this cool little golf cart template!
