As a member of the Creations by AR Design Team - Today is my day! And I'm excited to show you my Christmas version of the Gourmet Takeout Template!
I used, I guess you might call them Victorian Christmas colors, of green, blue and maroon for my boxes.
The Christmas Season is such a busy time - and while I like to give gifts in special packaging I need them to work up fast and still pack a punch! So, I decided to decorate these boxes cleanly and simply - using the Layered Poinsettia die from Spellbinders cut in white card stock to make one poinsettia for each box. I layered each piece of the flower with foam tape so it really pops up.
I die cut the flowers and leaf, sponging the flower pieces with Ranger Antigue Linen and the leaf with Shabby Shutters, before taking them out of the dies - that highlighted the embossed detail. The Merry Christmas is from the Ornate Ornaments set by Waltzingmouse and it's punched with the Key Tag Punch from Stampin' Up.
This take out box template comes in two sizes - the small ones (green and maroon) are 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/2"
The tall box measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" - and they cut out and go together quickly and easily! Adela designs the most wonderful accurate templates - I never have an issue with putting them together or having them 'fit' together the way they are supposed to. Both size boxes could hold all sorts of gift items.
You can see here how nicely the cover flaps fold over with the handle piece coming up through the slots. I just tied a simple knot in the gold ribbon - I didn't want to stress over tying bows!!
I used papers by Prismatics that have a wonderfully subtle texture to them - hopefully you can see that in the picture above.
And now all the info you need to know about how to win templates!

ReplyDeleteGreat job on the boxes...they are such a good idea. My youngest daughter works for the city...she used to work in an area of waste treatment...now she is at the parks dept. Both my girls have always been avid recyclers but now with the knowledge from her work, she is even more so. We hare gradually sewing gift bags for the little stocking gifts and making containers for her, similar to these so we can lay them flat to store and use from year to year.
