12 Tags of Christmas #11

I'm on the home stretch with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas Challenges -  I have #11 for you today and I'm working on #12 and will post it soon!

You must go see Tim's tag #11  then see how I used what I had to recreate it in a slightly different way!   He has a video showing how to use the Melting Pot, UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel)  and shrink plastic to make the pretty holly on my tag.  See it on the top left there?   I was SO glad that I had bought the Melting Pot several years ago and had it in a drawer in my craft room!  NOW I know something fun to do with it!
I used another German Paper Santa Image (see yesterday's tag) on this tag since I didn't have Tim's fun retro Santa stamp.  The tag is made with glossy card stock, sponged, dried - then flicked with water to make the droplets! - ANOTHER cool technique I learned!  My sentiment is from Twas the Night Before Christmas set by Waltzingmouse - and goes perfectly with my Santa I think!   Here is Santa - on Christmas Eve - bringing presents and even a little tree!

It's a good thing we have come to the end of Tim's challenges -  I really need to get cracking on decorating some baskets for my bosses and co-workers food gifts!!   I just have to finish Tag #12...............

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Twas the Night Before Christmas
Paper:  glossy white - SU
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress - Chipped Sapphire, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Festive Berries, Peeled Paint, Adirondack Alcohol Inks - Lettuce, Rust.
Accessories:  Ranger Melting Pot, UTEE, vintage paper Santa - The Paper Source, rhinestones - Kaiser, wrinkled seam tape, foam tape, Glossy Accents, Holly Branch Die - Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix

  1. Gorgeous! What a fab image, so traditional, and I love the holly leaves. So festive, not long to go now!

  2. I so hear you about getting back to other things, Julia! I am really liking your background here...so much like the Tim tag...seems you've got the 'flicking' down perfect...great work using that vintage Santa. Rock on 'round that tree.

  5. All your tags are brilliant and well done on the holly leaves and getting out the melting pot, it looks like fun.
Good Luck on finishing tag 12, just go for it, nearly there. I nearly fell by the wayside several times.
