Happy 4th of July USA!

Today we in the USA are celebrating our independence from Britain in 1776.  The 4th of July - I hadn't thought to make a card - but it's 90 degrees F out and I've been staying mostly inside - no parades or fireworks outside for us today -  we'll watch the celebration in Boston on TV tonight!

So - since I was inside anyay -  I suddenly thought I should make and post a card for the 4th!
I used stamps from a retired Waltzingmouse set - USA 1776 and I made the background using Loll's Splash Watercolor technique video.  I used Ranger Distress Inks Fired Brick and Broken China.

I'm linking my card to the July CAS Watercolor challenge.

So Happy 4th of July to all those in the US -  and Happy Canada Day on July 1st to all of my Canadian friends!

And since the 4th is a celebration
I'm also linking to
The Paper Players
who are celebrating their 400th challenge!

Stamps:  USA 1776 - Waltzingmouse (retired)
Paper:  Watercolor paper - Canson, Pure Poppy - PTI
Ink:  True Black - PTI, Ranger Distress Fired Brick and Broken Glass.
Accessories:  Craft Mat, water mister, heat tool, Misti.

Oh wow Julia, the Statue of Liberty looks stunning against the gorgeous splash background. Belated Happy 4th July greetings to you. We are having some pretty extreme hot weather here too, like you we are staying indoors as much as possible and wishing we had air conditioning!! Hugs, Anne xx

Love that splash background and it's perfect with the Statue of Liberty! Looks like the fireworks going off all around it! We watched 4th of July celebrations on TV too. Too hot outside and no mosquitoes inside! Stay cool!

That is one beautiful splashed background Julia...love it!! And absolutely perfect for your stamped image of the Statue of Liberty!! It really does look like fireworks are going off around her...a GREAT 4th of July card!! We watched our fireworks from indoors too this year because of the excessive heat and humidity...definitely not a fan of this kind of weather, but then I'm not a fan of snow either! I just want 70's with a gentle breeze...that's not asking too much, is it?!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!! :0)
