February CAS Mix Up Challenge - Corrugated Cardboard

Welcome to February and to the CAS Mix Up Challenge - this month Susan has asked to use corrugated cardboard.
For my card today - I used a piece of partially stripped corrugated cardboard, a stamp, Brushos with water, and 3 dies - and I made it a Valentine!
Here are a few photos of how I made my card.
I die cut 4 hearts out of a piece of cardboard I saved from a box using an old Sizzix die.  I decided to just use the largest one and ripped off some of the top layer.
Then I shook just a little bit of Brilliant Red Brusho onto the heart.
Next, I spritzed it with a little bit of water - and look at the explosion of color!  I like to leave it like this with splotches of color -  the more you spritz with water - the more the Brushos dissolve and spread.  The different layers of cardboard also absorb the color differently so it gives a wonderful mottled appearance.
I die cut an arrow from black card and a stitched square out of white.
And then I put it all together!  The arrow wasn't long enough to go across the full distance of the heart - so I cut it in half and adhered it to the two sides, die cut another arrow and just snipped a little middle piece and adhered it in the center as if the arrow was shot through the heart.
(To my eye, it looked like too big of an opening without the added little middle piece)
I adhered the heart to the stitched square and layered the square over the card base with foam dots.  My card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".  I stamped the sentiment along the bottom in black ink
So we hope you will join us by linking up your CAS Mix Up card-  here's the link to the challenge where you will find more corrugated cardboard inspiration!   You have until the end of February to join in!

What a cool Valentine card! I love that you used brusho's on the corrugated cardboard, it looks so cool and I'm glad you stopped adding water-it just looks so cool the way it is! I also love the arrow, it really does look like it is going through the heart. Great card design too. Hugs, Brenda

Love the way you've left some of the top layer of the CC behind. The simple white background makes the Brusho heart sing. :)
