Dec Mixed Media Card Challenge - Home

Happy December everyone!  It's the first day of the month - and time for another Mixed Media Card Challenge!  The theme for December is Home -  optional element: Lace
The houses in Shery's challenge image made me think of my Tim Holtz Townscape die.  I cut it out of a piece of Paperstash Merriment that I layered to white card stock to give it some firmness.  I punched a yellow moon, stamped Santa in his sleigh on it and sponged the edges with Wild Honey Distress Ink. It's layered over the snowy sky with foam tape.  The Santa, sentiment and mouse are from Twas the Night Before Christmas by Waltzingmouse.

I layered foam dots behind the middle of the Townscape panel so the middle is higher and the sides curve down to the outside edges of the card - it gives the scene a nice dimension IRL!
I inked my Wendy Vecchi Spatter background stamp with Snow Cap white ink - laid the black panel over the stamp and rubbed over the card stock with my fingers -  it came out a little bit blurred - which makes it look more like swirling snow don't you think?   A lucky design accident!  I added Mirrored Stars to the sky and sentiment.
I added snow to the rooftops by embossing them with Ranger Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder so there's quite a bit of sparkle when the light hits it.  And not a creature was stirring - not even the little mouse in the corner!
I couldn't figure out a way to use lace on the front design of my card -  so I used it on the inside!
And, once again, the front of my card.
So what does 'Home' say to you?  I can't wait to see your creation linked up over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge Blog - You have until Dec 25th!
Remember - Mixed Media means texture, dimension and techniques.

Those houses cut from that cool paper look fantastic. Thought you had stamped various patterns onto white CS. And the Santa flying in front of the moon - perfect.

LOVE that die-cut row of houses Julie ... so perfect with the patterned paper. The snowtopped roofs add lots of fun and sparkle! :)

Love your "happy accident" with the blurred, falling snow ... so fun when that happens! Loll xx
