From Our Home to Yours - Freshly Made!

I'm slipping this card in just before the deadline for this week's Freshly Made Sketches!

I've used a brandy new Waltzingmouse Stamp set that Claire has just released called Alpine Christmas.  Stamps I used from this set are the village, the trees (separate stamps!) and the sentiment -  the background strip is from Nordic Winter.

Just look at this wonderful village scene! I stamped the village, then the trees, then I die cut it with a Nestie Heirloom Ornament - I sponged the edges before taking it out of the die - then layered it over the stamped strip with foam dots.

Here's the sketch
I interpreted the sketch quite literally as you can see!  I meant to stamp the sentiment with the darker ink I used on the village - but by mistake inked it up with the lighter ink I used to sponge with (seeing as that was the closest ink to me that was open!) -  but then I liked the subtle softness with the lighter ink -  so it ended up being a happy mistake!

And finally a peek at the verse inside the card - that is also from Alpine Christmas - don't you love all the wonderful fonts on this?!
Well, the weekend is over and it's back to work tomorrow  -  we may be getting a little bit of snow flurries this week - and all the leaves haven't even fallen yet!

Tuesday  I'm going to be posting two wonderful new Christmas Templates from Creations by AR -  I hope you'll stop by then!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Alpine Christmas, Nordic Winter
Paper:  Vintage Cream - PTI
Ink:  Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Ranger Distress Victorian Velvet
Accessories:  2011 Heirloom Ornaments - Nestabilities, Eclipse Tape (for masking), blending tool - Ranger

I just love this! What a lovely scene and I think it looks wonderful stamped on the ornament. What a beautiful, fresh design and monochromatic color scheme! Knockout creation!

What a lovely scene! I love that you sponge ink on the dies while they are still in the metal - so they have a crisp clean edge - - - and then you stamp over the edge with the trees! It looks just awesome!! Hugs!
