WMS May Release Preview - Day 1 - Once Upon A Time

Welcome to Preview Day 1 of the May Waltzingmouse Release!   Claire has three terrific sets releasing on May 8th and today the Design Team is highlighting the most adorable set  -  the long awaited female version of Half Pint Heroes  --   HALF PINT HEROINES!!!!

I used one of the faces in this set with the 'blowing in the wind' hair since she was riding in this wonderful hot air balloon which I paper pieced in these fun papers by Echo Park.  There are 5 other cute faces and hairstyles to choose from!

I framed this wonderful 'once upon a time' sentiment with this pretty scrolley from Very Vintage Labels No. 4.   I sponged the background using my home made cloud stencil and Soft Sky Ink as shown below.  I added the Modern Landscape border by Memory Box to the base of the card

Inside I stamped one of the sentiments that completes the sentiment on the front of the card -  and one of the sweet birds from this wonderful new set.

My card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" so even though the hot air balloon extends over the top - it will still fit inside a regular A2 envelope.  You can see here how I layered the balloon and then layered the girls face over that.

Now I strongly recommend that you check out the rest of the Design Team listed below to see what stamps they have used from this adorable new set!  I know that's where I'm going!

Julia, you're super fab! I love how you paper-pieced the ballon. The little townscape below is the perfect touch.

Question, did you cut your cloud stencil out with scalloped scissors?
