Ways to stay warm - A load of wood and a pretty quilt!

I had such fun making this card for two challenges today - the color challenge on Split Coast(thanks Jodi!) was to use Really Rust, Choc Chip, and Baja Breeze and Beverly (Beestamper) was hostess for the Tuesday Double Dare Challenge that I do with a few SCS buddies - and her challenge was to make a masculine theme card with a twig on it!

So after work I went into the back yard and picked up some small fallen branches (that are all over our yard!) and clipped these little pieces off to make a little load of firewood for the cute little pickup! I colored the truck with Really Rust reinker and my aquabrush. The tires and bumpers are colored with black and silver sparkle pens from Martha Stewart. I attached the wood with small glue dots to be sure they would stay on! The background stamping of lines, dots and snowflakes is from an old SU set called Let It Snow.

On the inside I stamped this cozy Christmas greeting from Amuse along with the roaring fire from the Happy Camper set from Stampin Up. I'll be giving this to my sister and brother-in-law for their Christmas card - as they heat their house mostly with wood during the winter, I think they will appreciate the theme of this card!

You can check out the other 'use a twig' challenge cards here.

Stamps: Pickup: Loads of Love, small bg snow: Let it Snow - SU, Special Delivery: Amuse
Paper: Really rust, choc chip, naturals ivory, DP's - SU
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, choc chip, baja breeze
Accessories: twigs, black & silver glitter pens: Martha Stewart, grey threaded ribbon: Amuse, aquabrush, really rust reinker, key tag punch, sponge, glue dots

My next card was made for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast this past Saturday. We had all colors of rooms to choose from. I chose this green room where I was inspired by the wall color and the pretty quilt.

I used a new stamp set by Artful INKables called Butterfly Blessings for the swirly floral and the wonderful quote sentiment is from the Autumns Flowers set. I cuttled the panel with the Textile folder and framed the 'quilt' in Kiwi Kiss like the color on the walls.

If you like this set or any other sets from Artful INKables - please remember to use the code on the right column of my blog when you order and you will get 10% off!! what a deal!!

Thanks for the wonderful weekly inspirations Stef - you're really doing your job of inspiring us!!!

And thank YOU for coming by for a visit here today!!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow - I'm participating in a fun blog hop and there are free stamp sets to be won!!

Wow, the first card is sooo cute. I would never have thought to put actual "stuff" in the back of the truck. I just gave this set to my MIL, I think I should take it back, lol. The second card is gorgeous! I love how it's over that embossed background. That was very clever! Hugs jenn
