New Dog on the Blocks

Here's another card for you tonight - this one is for Sharon's No Time To Stamp Friday Challenge to make a card using color blocks in the background.

I've had a block of designer paper for months by Die Cuts With a View called Pet Block that has all kinds of fun cat and dog DP in it and I've only used a couple of pieces so far. I thought this challenge would be a good time to get it out and see if it would work on this card. I have tons of cat and dog stamps too (as well as all kinds of other animals but that's another story!).

I decided to use dog paper and then picked out this cute dog stamp that has the sentiment right on it by Inkadinkado. The card base is Kraft CS and I attached a ruffled brown ribbon around the center. I distressed and sponged the edges of the Kraft panel that I stamped my little pooch on and attached it to the Chocolate Chip panel and then to the card with dimensionals.

I added a silver paw print charm that I tied on the ribbon with a piece of raffia. And to finish it off I put a resin dot on the bottom that says Treat by Karen Foster. This is a a big card at 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches so I'll have to make a special envelope for it.

Well - now it's really late - so it's off to bed for me. See you tomorrow with the Inspiration challenge! Thanks so much for taking a look here tonight!
